integra gs-r

so, i'm taking on this integra gs-r at import wars in about a week. anyone know how fast these things really are? i think all he's got is an intake and exhaust. i got drag radials, intake, exhaust and stage one.. couple people i've talked to say i should walk him easy. what do you guys think?

if its a stock gs-r block with just intake and exhaust your ****** smoke him. i raced a gs-r with all bolt ons (excluding forced induction) and a flywheel. and i smoked him in my ford probe gt. youll have no problem..just make sure he aint squeezing. he could be one of those all or nothing cars.

Man you guys know nothing about jap cars lol the GSR has 175hp and stock they run mid 15's. my best friend has one and back in the day he ran 14.59 with open header, intake, catback and LSD. you gotta think though he probably knows your car runs 14's so he probably has nitrous or something. now if he's turbo'd just pack up now cause you're gonna loose horribly.

I doubt he's just I/E... most guys running those things have some major performance work done.

I have to call bullshit on your friend running 10.5 with only an H22 swap, a buddy of mine has the exact same thing and has never managed anything faster than a 14.6

Coming to Cobalt land from the Honda world...unless he has a custom turbo kit don't worry. If he has a built N/A motor you'll know it right away and he may give you a run for it.

One of my best friends has a 2001 GS-R and his best run was 13.8, with no lsd.

just ask him if you can look at his engine before the race real quick and when he's not looking unscrew something and pray it works

type r and gsr are way different in terms off performance. a built b18(gsr engine) is good for 250whp or more in which case your ass would be handed to you. most **** just have an aem intake and a catback so i wouldn't sweet it.

My money is on the balt. Even if he has a turbo it will be close. You have the 2.8 pulley right? You'll eat him alive.

Keep us posted

i got beat bad by a crx with a b16 swap, intake, open headers, and a skunk2 manifold. depending on if the integra has some bolt ons it may be closer than everyone thinks.

i know a guy locally that has a 95 gsr with cai, header, cat back, safc2, lsd, a bunch of engine head work type R head basically. and a couple other mods, and he ran a 9.4 in the 1/8th. i drove it and yah its fast. it would be a good match since most stock bolts ss sc are running simular.

I raced one of those at the 1/8 track 2 weeks ago with my 2,4L and bad clutch and he beat me by half a car lenght... gs-r's arent all that when they're stock... they have lots of potential though.

he said all motor, he didnt say it was a stock h22a... All Motor simply means he has no turbo or nitrous. A guy in my club does 12,89 on the 1/4 mile, all motor h22 in a 92 hb... 10,5 can be done with extensive engine work and a good driver/weather.

I hate hondas like the rest of you, but the potential IS there... only, most people just rice them up and don't know **** about racing... they think you just have to press the gas pedal and shift when the huge-ass red light turns on.

a type r is in the high 14's low 15's so you should pretty much destroy him. and type r is 195hp.

That is correct but the 195 hp type R's only dyno 5 hp higher than the 175hp gs-r's. Even Honda loving sport compact car magazine admits to that one. In any case weather it's a type R or a GS-R it is very possible to beat him, but if you make a mistake or are an unexperienced driver he could beat you. I say give it a try in the unlikely event that you get beat it'll still be good times. Just be safe

well the kid never showed up.. so i guess we'll never know.. i'd still like to race one just to see what happens. i'm sure it would be a good race, i like looking for close races, theres no point in racing someone if your just gonna blow him away.
