These are the numbers 97cavie24ls' qaud-4 cavy that I ran against in the second run. It's a 4 door auto. This was the best time he's ever cut in his car. He beat me by a bit cause of the launch and I just about had him at the end, but ran out of track. By 3rd gear I was reeling him in hard but it wasn't enough. Damn your traction!

I saw you run a 15 something

I went over to the In&Out on Ray and I-10.... didnt see any SS or Cavys.... So i just took off over to Firebird and watched the races.... Who had the stock black ss... eeekk his times sucked !

*EDIT* Oh ya... some schmuck was standing next to me when you ran the 15.... After you ran he was like "Yeah thats all those cobalts are good for stock anyways... my SRT would smoke that thing" .... I was gonna say something to him.... but.. probably wouldnt do any good anyways..

 

I bet the schmuck didn't see my mid 14 sec pass then. I launched it from 800 rpm, heh. I mostly just took off like I was at a stoplight in a bit of a hurry.

The one he saw was my 2nd run..it was a 15.2, but lets not talk about that. I tried to launch at 1500 rpm while slipping the clutch. God, I thought it was gonna rattle teeth out of my head it wheel hopped so bad.


The track was worse lastnight then I've ever seen it. Stupid ass fun ford bs weekend. I had to listen to my ******* Ford buddy rant and rave about that **** all night...ugh. Then he tried to tell me how he could drive my car way better and it was impossible for my car to grab with both tires without the LSD. He kept calling it a peg leg. I hate that guy when he drinks.

Ya i saw your mid 14 pass... looked like you got a really decent launch... atleast compared to the other SS that was out there anyways.... What mods do you have ? I could hear the SC pretty well .. CAI ?
Ive never ran at firebird before... So i figured I would go and watch.. see what was going on down there... I may run here pretty soon..

 

Actually, it was a horrid launch, because it wasn't a launch at all. My 60 foot times are just pathetic, but there's nothing I can do to really improve that as of now. Who had the black SS anyway?

The only thing done is the CAI. I wish you would have come down to the pit lanes and talked to me. I was hoping to meet some more of the SS crowd in Az. You better come to the pavs tonight!!!

Those are some terrible 60ft. times. Don't mash the gas soo hard in 1st and you will improve the 60ft. times! I run 2.2 60ft times with slower ET's. Try rolling on the pedal!

 

Firebird on a "street car" night... well lets put it this way, you'd get better traction on an ice-rink.

No LSD. The problem isn't wheel slip or spin though. It's massive wheel hop.

And I'm not mashing on the gas either. If I do anything more than 1/4 throttle from idle it goes into wheel hop mode. So I just kinda have to put off the line at a snails pace.

Like mchat said, that damn track sucks for traction. It's like a bowling alley it's so slick.
If I'm at a stop light on the street I can outlaunch my buddies modded 5.0, and he's a great driver.

but all is well considering it was my first time at fireslip (firebird) or at a track period. My best was a 14.9 all stock so I know I will do better. If you guys can commit to racing one night or meeting up before the races I will most likely go again but being alone at the start of the races then leaving because I saw no support was pissin me off.

 

by the way im completly stock and will stay that way until tax return time comes around

 

so if I get even remotely close to you guys with mods all I can say is ... ^ ^
