i just got back from the track and got a 15.9 at 87, and my best 60ft was a 2.38. i think that 15 flat is pretty good and i can't wait to put on an intake and headers and exhaust. it's a wery achievable goal, my only promblem, well two problems is traction and the 105mph governor.

I won't believe it till I see slips. A low 15 with those mods wouldn't be unheard of. But I'm not too sure about flat 15s and possible 14.9. I'd need to see slips.

maybe the timing was off at the track?

those suspension mods would definitely help put the power down to the ground but that sounds pretty crazy, not that I'd be complaining.

is that on street tires?

its factory freak not gem, unless your a girl or wavy. and why would the 105mph governor make you run slower at the track??? you dont trap near 105 so you dont have anything to worry about yet

The 15.0 shouldnt be hard to believe...i did a 15.7@88 ::89 fastest mph but did 15.8:: with just a intake with a 2.4 60 foot ....he has the header, exhaust, mounts and torque brace..he will defintely put more power to the ground...the time is very easy to get with those times with a decent driver behind the wheel

roller at milan obtained a 15.6 on stock trim, the goal is a nice launch. He drives a 2.2 5 speed. I don't believe it's that hard to get it to dip into the 14's. I've seen 2.2 5 speed cavs with full bolts on and suspension hit high 14's. What makes it any different in a cobalt? I think you guys tend to over look things. Hell, a 2.4 could do the same if they wanted to.

What makes it different in the Cobalt? The Cobalt weighs over 300lbs more than the Cavalier and has only 5hp/5tq on it.

I ran a 16.19@84.7 in my stock 5spd 2004 Cavalier at E-Town my first time at the track. In my defense though, they were manually tripping the tree for some reason. As soon as you had the 2nd staging lights lit, they started the tree. Hardly any time to get a decent launch.

R/T ... .069
60' ... 2.364
330 ... 6.779
1/8 ... 10.430
MPH ... 67.22
1000 ... 13.554
1/4 ... 16.196
MPH ... 84.70

ppl here are so gay, they dont believe a good 1/4 mile time without a slip
you have a lot of bolt ons, so i think it could be done with a good driver at a good track
what were you 60' times?

nothign wrong with asking for a time slip--well apparently in your world it is

Lots of bolts ons? He has a few but I'd hardly call it lots.

Yeah, like the dude on j-body.org who claimed he pulled a 13.3 in his auto ecotec cavalier with an intake and a couple other little things. When asked for a timeslip, he said he did it with his stopwatch and told everyone "FU if you don't believe me."

And the dude who claimed he ran an 11.xx in his Kia and when asked for a timeslip, he provided one that had a date on it that was a couple of years prior to the MY Kia he owned.

People like them are the reason people ask for timeslips.

that is not enough to drop that much time. Not even close.

1. there is no way he ran a flat 15 without DR's.
2. Is that because you have never been to the track but talk about your times?
3. he does not have enough bolt ons to drop almost an entire second in et.

based on that, the only 3 mods that are actually giving him HP /tq is the Cai/h/catback right? and of course the torque bracers help him get more tot he ground.

you just stated that roller had a 15.6..... that's exactly what i said earlier....high 15's, low 16's. And there is now way that i/e/torque brace will drop you any more than .2

a 2.2 cobalt with those mods will put roughly 140-148fwhp and around 140-145 fwtrq....which is more than the 2.4 ::factory:: so its possible...but like everyone else is saying timeslip plz
