LSJ smoked Subaru turbo (sand)
While racing on Competition Hill at Dumont sand dunes this weekend the little LSJ surprised quite a few. I lined up with a fast turbo Subaru rail that everybody raved about. It was a dyno 320 hp but mine LSJ is way less. We were dead even at the start but he pulled me by a few feet when I shifted to 3rd. By the time we neared the top the Cobalt was pulling away hard. I thought Turbos got stronger the higher they reved and an SC got flat? Generally 3000-4500 rpm is what I run the dunes at but this engine is a beast when it revs out.

vids or it didnt happen lol

you do weight alot less than the subie did, but yes the lsj is a great motor. your said mods should net you about 245whp which power to weight should way surpass that of a 320hp subaru

Vids of sandrail in general plz
|
You drove all the way out to Dumont sand dunes from Arizona and Glamis is alot closer?

Supercharged cars build power as rpms increase. The lsj with stock cams build power up to around 6750 rpms no problem. Power doesnt normally plateau up top. Your gearing is also prob an advantage over the subaru. |

Do you think the power is really that low on 100 octane? I thought 265-270 but idk. We like Dumont over Glamis because of the tight bowl to bowl action you can run. One steep bank turn after another until your dizzy. Pics in an old thread: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/forc...retune-302139/
you are right on point indeed 260-270whp range:cssNET: |
