With DR or Slicks 60 fts are easy :-P, but it's pretty good for that little turbo saab (I assume it's the turbo LSJ since Saab does turbos lol)

No no, he's using SAAB 16" wheels for his drag radials. His car is an Ion Redline.

Well.. not quite.

Turbo cars are less effected, however, the Roots type positive displacement supercharger is infact very much affected by atmospheric conditions.

Roots type are fixed drive ratios and have a given displacement and volumetric efficency, very much like a NA engine. At a given volumetric efficency, displacement and speed the supercharger will have less mass flow at lower atmospheric pressure.

While I understand that you say they have linear drive ratio due to being pulley driven. But is compensated when being compressed, hence while you'll make the same boost at sea level as when your 7,000 ft above sea level or more. I don't want to start a flaming contest, to each his own oppinion. Good 60 ft though

Your right.. you know superchargers better..

We can go through thermodynamic equations if you would like..

Yeah and the 2HP I gained with an drop in airfilter will make such a difference I guess vs someone having the ability to obtain better traction off the line? IMO tires and a better 60ft will make more of a difference than my 2hp. a 0.100 better 60ft is like 0.4 better in a 1/4 once the run is done.

but stock is stock and we both are not.

Has anyone consistantly dropped a tenth off their 60ft simply by swapping from 215's to 225's? I cut a 1.9 on stock rubber and a 2.0 w/ 225's so I'm speaking simply from my own experience. I guess it attributes to the additional rotational mass and surface area...but who knows, it very well could have been the wind . I've just never been on a forum where people we're denied their legitimacy because they had a different tire brand or were +1 up in tire width lol. Drag radials and competition tires are a different story of course..

Please edit this or rephrase it. I know you have an example proving your statement, but what you are saying is not right.

Well, that is assuming you drive very well through the rest of the run. I for one had some really nice stock times. Not to mention my best run of a 14.2 was not my best 60" time. I think shifting has alot to do with it. I'm not saying your wrong but if you can get a awesome 60" and still drive perfect and shift perfect your going to have a insane run. Thata what its all about.

Lol...you guys are funny as sh-t...I am definately a stock REDLINE w/ a LSJ engine... The DA has a HUGE effect on the times/speeds. If you do the math (based on a perfect 0'DA, which only occurs in death valley once a year), I would have ran a 14.0 @97...so that is pretty fast for a Redline with just the GMPP 2.25" exh, and a CAI...thanks for believing me. Ill be out at the track again on the 2nd of Dec. So, hopefully Ill be able to re-produce that 60' with a faster E.T.

... To each his own like I said but I guarantee I'll run the same times I run here anywhere else. and the fact is slower cars have less power, less power means less chance of slipping tires less tires slipping, faster 60 fts. walk 60 feet it's not that far lol.

I can't believe this is still coming up. I posted the timeslip on here and had probably about 4 witnesses from the board and people still can't believe it.

Update, the modded SS/SC list is now only the top 10 still using the stock M-62 as the power adder, no nos, and no turbo. When the times start to hit, there will be a separate category for turbo cars and nos cars.

They will be in the same "Other Power Adder" list as the Turbo'd cars and cars with NOS. Since there's no times yet with any of these, I haven't added the list yet. I will though.
