Promise I'm not hating on Cobalts

I promise I am not hating on cobalts, but I am a neon guy and I have a buddy that has a 05 ss/sc. He is always telling me he has holds a world record as the fastest ss/sc on street tires. I am 99% sure he is just spreading a load of stupid around because he genuinely seems to believe his stories. He posted a video of it coming on a on ramp close to town and tries saying the speedometer can't keep up with the car(as you can plainly hear him say from the video). He gets in it in from what I would assume to be 2nd gear(I am not familiar with the gearing in these cars) and he is on wet pavement and doesnt struggle for traction. If I was to guess it runs about how I'd imagine a fairly stock one would run. not mid 11's, especially not on street rubber(dont know if that is even possible in a fwd car). Once again I am not trying to start anything at all, I happen to like the ss/tc cobalts just fine. I am about done with my 2.4 turbo swap in my 97 neon and if everything goes correctly I was planning on mid 13's on my set-up witch I think is logical and more real life. let me know if this one is stock

1. That's not an SS, The SS gauge cluster is dark and goes to 160
2. Its not moving out at all for a record car...
3. A stock srt should have nothing to fear from this guy.

That slow obnoxiously loud cobalt deserves alittle hate IMHO..... LOL his CEL is on too... Yeah right a turbo swap 2.2 is anywhere near the 11's on street tires...

see thats what I have always said.. It really is an ss/sc or atleast the supercharged engine. What I will be running is. Gutted 97 neon, 2.4 w/srt4 turbo, .020 over 8.5:1 wiesco pistons, t2 rods(like the old 2.5 turbo chryslers used), 52lb injectors, kinetic wastegate(heavier srping and adjustable), and megasquirt 2 controlling it all. All I lack is wiring my ms2 into a harness and going to town on tuning. I plan on running 15psi of boost all the time and bump it up to 20 only when I think I will need to since thats about all we can get out of a stock srt4 turbo without being really hard on it. I think I can just leave it around 10-15psi of boost and walk all over him.

If that is a 2.4 SS/NA with turbo swap it need serious work as the CEL is on and it's hardly pulling.. Most of them move out pretty damn good from what i can recall.. Not super fast but def would surprise you! NOt saying a 2.2 turbo is slow just saying 11's on street tires is not even close to happening!

lmao awesome. yea i think his boost gauge is broken. there's no way he's running that much boost on an m62. and if he was, he's an idiot for not running a wideband

that section of crawling past 100-110 was ungodly slow.... no way is that thing actually boosted... but if it is

1) something is majorly wrong
2) it looks like an n/a neon could have a chance at it! so you'd be fine against him
3) wtf, m62 at 23psi?? get him to clarify on how

I had another question.. Isn't 4th usually what you use to do your dyno pulls? i thought it was the closest to 1:1. they did thier pull what seemed like 3rd. that would pump up the readings, right?

from the other flyby videos it has the blower whine, but the only way you'd make 23 on the eaton is to run a 2.5 or maybe a clogged cat...you cant hear the blower in the car on a straightpipe exhaust its SO ******* loud lol
