Ran a 12.2 @118.2mph this weekend
Went to the track with a bunch of friends this weekend for a 2 day street legal drag event. The first day was kind of cold and windy so in the morning the track wasn't prepped very well, and my first run I only cut a 2.2 60' and ran a 13.0 @119.0. The trap was there, so I knew it was time to start chipping away at the e.t. My next run I cut a 2.0 60' but then as I shifted to 3rd my foot slipped off the clutch pedal (never done that before
) so I missed 3rd and I only managed a 13.2 @112. I got back in line, hit another 2.05 60' and ran a 12.6 @118.7. Next run was a 12.7 @117.5 hitting the limiter in first a bit. Made one more pass and ran another 12.6 @118.
We went back yesterday and the temps were in the mid 60's with full sun and really slight headwind that came and went. It was a beautiful day for racing. My first run started off with a 1.95 60' and netted me a 12.5 @118. My 2nd run was almost identical to that. I decided to try launching higher and just going for it and really trying to nail my 1-2 shift, since I am still not used to stickier tires so it was kind of slow. I ended up launching from 6,000 rpms with minimal spinning and cutting a 1.85 60' and nailing 2nd gear. I knew it was going to be a pretty good run as I held out 3rd across the traps. Got my slip and saw I had ran a 12.23 @118.2mph. I ended up stopping after that since it was getting a little later and I wanted to help some friends out and I also was happy enough and didnt need to risk trailering the car home this time
Here is a pic of the slip.

And here is the video of the run!
Ion Redline 12.2 @118.2 - YouTube
Mods are: TVS, 2.7" pulley, Ported head w/ZZP springs and retainers, full exhaust, intake, phenolic spacer, dual pass, cobra h/e, 98# injectors, and E85. Runs were made on 26x9.5x16 Hoosier QTP's because my wheels for my MT slicks didnt get here until today. Also had footballs in the rear.
If I had cut 2 more hundreths off I could have beat zzp's 2.4 stroker stock blower time, which I believe is currently the quickest redline E.T., but I'm Happy

Thanks man I appreciate that. A friend of mine was there with his built 2.2 on a S256 and E85 on 20-22lbs. We kept going back and forth and pushing each other and he finally ran a 12.4 so I knew I had work to do lol. Its cool though the 3, 4, and 5 spot on the list are me and 2 friends from here.
Edit: 4, 5, and 6 spot! Damn Kenny

Next year I will. The car has it in it for sure. My wheels came today for my smaller slicks, so there is a small chance Ill go back to the track the 13th but I'm not making any promises. Cams and ATI balancer going in over the winter
He shaved .9 off his previous personal best this weekend, and it was his first time on slicks give him a break!
Last year I couldnt hit 12's, but believe me I ran about 12 13.0's haha! Just takes practice and getting comfortable I guess. We both have the traps for 11's thats for damn sure!
Thanks Aaron!
Hell yeah man Im going to stay on it for another year for sure now. I'm just not done with blowers yet I guess lol.
Lol thanks dude. I am pretty happy with it all around now.
Thanks! I am happy with what I have done with it this year cosmeticly and performance wise.
I was also really happy this weekend because a lot of my friends who's cars I have tuned came with and laid down some awesome times. My friend's 2.3 stroker evo on the STOCK 8 turbo (small one, 9.8 hotside with 105k miles) went 11.6 @119. Another friend's Stock motor and trans 02 WRX with 175k on the trans and 120k on a stock ej205 with intake, turboback, uppipe with EWG, injectors, hta68 and E85 on 24lbs went 11.9 @115. And the ralliart that I posted a video of me racing that I tuned as well on the Evo X turbo on 23lbs went 12.1 @115 with a little bit of traction issues. I was just happy all around!

Yeah woulda added to the fun if you could have came with. Bismarck crew definitely did very well this year! Terry's Sti made 494whp in shootout mode on DB's dyno on friday, but unfortunately he spun a bearing his 2nd pass at the track
And jap couldnt hook even on low boost 25lbs and could only manage a 11.3 @129, then the 3rd gear synchro on his shep trans decided to start making noise. He tried another run on 30lbs but it started breaking up so he just quit. Those were the problems that we ran into.
Thanks man I appreciate that!
I usually rev to 7600, no meth, and stock BS shafts.
Ohh caught my interest. You got my number, holla at me when its time! Just remember we have that thing called winter around here that starts probably in about 2-3 months
Thanks man I appreciate that!
