The Results are in!! INTENSE stg3 hit the Track

Well, it was a rewarding and frustrating day! First for the excuses, First time ever drag racing a manual, (i thought i did ok) 15-25 mph wind at 25deg the whole day, and i'm sorry guys i let you down as i was not fully prepared for this first trip!!
My car has these mod's ONLY, 2.7" pulley, 42lb inj's, MAFFT, autolite plugs, Corsa cat back, and QTP DR's.
BONE stock air filter and intake to boot!
Well my worst fear camt true, WHEEL HOP!! Anything other than babying it resulted in nasty wheel hop and having to short shift it to 2nd.
Here is the good stuff, SPEC Stage2+ clutch worked FLAWLESS!!!! I speed shifted every time, abused it, and it held up perfect!
Conditions,
Temp 48deg, baro 30.06, humidity 55% winds 15-25mph,

93 octane gas, 16psi boost, left the line at 2K, slowly rolled into throttle AFTER i was rolling.

Slip Run1 Run2 Run3 Run4 Run5 Run6
60' 2.41 2.21 2.11 2.12 2.29 2.17

330' 6.20 6.05 5.82 5.85 5.88 5.91

1/8th 9.48 9.08 8.83 8.83 8.86 8.89

mph 76.87 81.38 82.01 82.57 82.65 82.61

1000' 12.26 11.65 11.38 11.37 11.39 11.43

1/4 14.66 13.81 13.52 13.52 13.55 13.58

MPH 101.71 104.02 104.76 104.45 103.98 104.11

Run 1 was on new slicks, and 10.0AFR Got better after that, i did leave out 2 aborted runs, missed the damn 2-3 shift! Stock shifter sucks!

Overall not bad but ALLOT was left on the table I never though i could have been so consistent with a manual trans but what di i know!

Wahoo! I guessed 13.5 @ 104. And the only reason I guessed that time was due to it being your first time to the track with this setup. I found it was really tough my first time at the track. I would bet that with an intake and maybe some better tires or better weather you may come close to 12's.

Did you do any burnouts to warm up the tires? Keep working at it and I know the times will improve.

Thats why i said i was sorry, i knew the wheel hop would kill me. That's ok, new tranny mounts and contol arm bushings coming soon! The car should be 13.1 to 13.2 at that MPH.

Not bad at all! Congrats! Believe me, I can attest to how much wheel hop hinders these cars at the track.

You guys need to remember the .60ft he's cutting. With more seat time he'll be EASILY in the low 13's w/ a 1.9X or lower 60ft.

Sorry, NEVER on street tires, unless you run 110mph

After racing some very fast FWD cars, i've learned and you all will as well, the MORE power you make, the HARDER it is to launch a FWD car.

Forgot to add, never tried the 2.6" pulley as the guy bringing it didn't show up!

Was going to try a 2.5" as well.

Great job man! Looks like you can run mid 13's all day. Get that 60' down and you'll be within reach of 12's.

Get rid of the wheel hop, and you should be able to launch a lot better. I would say def low 13's. Congrats.

With those speeds and reduced wheel hop i can see 13.1 - 13.3

As for a 2.6 and 2.5 pulley good luck with that.... you will be over spinning that m62 into oblivion 14,000 rpm max......

I'm sorry, but in keeping with forum tradition i'm going to call BS until I see some slips and/or some video. For your first time racing a manual I refuse to believe that you are that consistant.

I can't post them on here (premium member stuff?) but i will be more than happy to email them all to you

As for racing expierence, i've been around drag racing my whole life, 38yrs, been drag racing for 23 of those I have driven MANY maual cars on the street and during doing duties as a chevy technician. Just never drag raced, also never said i couldn't shift either.

Now send me that e-mail so you can eat some crow
