Safe racing temperature?

Safe racing temperature?
Hey all...
The local 1/4th mile track is holding a test-n-tune session from 6-10PM on saturday night.
Here's my question... daytime highs at the track are only supposed to be in the upper 50's... and night time lows are gonna drop to below freezing. This being said, is it safe to be making passes at say 40 degrees and below? My tires don't get any kind of traction when it gets cold and I definately don't want to be battling wheel-hop all night long. I realise that cold air = more power... but is there ever a "too cold" to be flogging the car down the 1/4th?

Cold air is better for power, but there is a trade off in traction.
Traction will vary with termperature and from tire to tire depending on the softness of the rubber, etc. You would know best how your own tires perform in various weather conditions.

Racing in weather that cool will likely give you your best trap speed ever, but slowest ET's. Golden rule always applies - if your car starts to get out of shape, back out of it. Better to run again than fix it up!

whats wrong with driving in cold weather? Traction isn't going to happen, knock or detonation may occur more easly. back down on the boost or timing and your ok. I've made many many 12 second passes below 40F.
