slickss
16" wheel is the easiest to use and will give you an "OKAY" selection of slicks.
15" wheel is ideal but you have to grind down the brake caliper a big to get it to fit. But if you can get a 15" wheel, you'll have a very wide selection of tires.
Figuring out what overall size to use depends on your setup. How much power you make? What trap speed are you at? What gear you want to finish in?
Our cobalts are geared very similar to an old GM 3 speed auto. Only we got 2 extra overdrive gears on top of that for gas mileage.

With the stock size tires (25.7" tall) and a 7500rpm rev limit, 3rd gear ends at 120mph.
With your modifications, I seriously doubt you are anywhere close to 120mph.
A 24.5" tall tire would put you at 114mph through the traps. That's still above what you probably trap. I doubt you are at 110mph.
If you dropped all the way down to a 23" tall tire, that would put you at roughly 107mph through the traps in 3rd gear. I wouldn't drop any lower than that because you are probably going to pick up a couple mph from the more aggressive gearing.
You can find a 23" tall tire for a 15" rim here..... M&H MHR-21 M&H Racemaster Drag Slicks
That may be too small of a diameter though. The next size up is a 24.5" which like I said above, would put you at roughly 114mph, but if that's the best you can do, then there it is. At least you would leave yourself a little more room for more power.

If you need it on a 16" rim, then here is the best you can do, 16" rim, 24.9" tall tire, will put you at 116mph roughly through the traps..... Hoosier 17320 Hoosier D.O.T. Drag Radials

im going to run a 26" tall this year.
my problem are my rims dont have enough back spacing for me. mine have 4.5 or 4.75" of backspacing...
if you are buying drag rims, stock backspacing is 5.43" on a 7.5 inch rim.
if you are like me running a 10inch tire on a 8.5" rim youll need comprimise either with a 5 inch backspace. or a 5.5 with a decent spacer.
because of my spacers i need 6.5 inches of backspacing to run a 10" tire.
still looking for a deal. lol

133? lol, at that point throw the gearing calculating out the window. Put you at least a 10.5" tire on it and go to town!
24.5" is really the largest you want to run, a 26" tire will hurt your gearing.
The gearing the F35 or F23 is bad enough from the factory no point making it worse.
A 24.5" tire will stick 600-700whp, no need to run a 26".
The smallest wheel you can run the better, the more sidewall you have the better off you will be.
M&H is your best bet for drag slicks. Its been said many times that they are much more suited for a FWD car than a MT tire is, this is why all the Honda guys run on M&H.

Eventually I'm gonna buy a drag set up for this car and take her to the track. I'd like to go to a big CSS track day in Ohio or something though. cmiller seems like a cool guy to hit the track with.
I say we try to get something together. Or Milan is about an hour and a half from here. That's an option.
Only been to Lapeer with this car. It's not the best track in the world...
Milan's about a hour and a half from my house too. Wednesday's are usually a good day to go since not too many ppl go. NO E.T.'s are packed though.
