snapping an axel

go ahead and order Driveshaft Shop axles and have them on stand-by. If you get lucky and don't break the oe's, good....but chances are you're going to in the near future, so at least you won't have to wait on shipping. At least it's an easy fix.

its called preloading!!!! granted I don't have many mods, but I've been to the track countless times and as long as i preload the suspension I have had no problems. I have noticed that I will wheel hop if I dont preload enough or if I dont launch high enough

ya pretty much what he said. here's what i do: pull up the e-brake as high as you can while holding the button down, rev it up to what you wanna launch at and start to disengage the clutch, you will feel the car crouch, once you feel its crouched enough slam down the e-brake feather the throttle and depending how much you disengaged the clutch feather that too. Sometimes when i preload the clutch is pretty much disengaged completely by the time i throw down the e-brake. but the big thing is feathering the throttle

ya only if your a *******..i messed up my clutch a while back, but its because I didn't know how to exactly do it. If you do it how your supposed to you will be fine. Id rather have a car with clutch that MIGHT slip than a car that is immobile because the axle is snapped. But you are completely right buddy...you're a genius and ppl who preload are idiots

Ill still preload with all that business..better 60's. Just think about this, if you have the suspension already preloaded you dont waste that extra time in the transfer of energy to the wheels. If you don't your car has to transfer that energy before you start moving

i like your idea. i gotta try it. Id probobly start with the E-brake b4 i try to heel toe the brake and clutch. wheel hop seems to not be so bad in the SS/TC but I also have lower motor mounts so I dont seem to run into that problem so much. But preloading to help 60's is a plus

ya the lnf has the better axles..gm should have put out a recall for these shitty ass axles on the lsj but oh well. now they are offering a wheel hop kit with mounts and the lnf axles.
but preloading for better 60's does make sense to me, if it doesn't for some then idk what else to say
