Some LSJ 1/4 footage and slips
Went to Fontana's 1/4 mile last weekend...
12XX' ELEVATION
weather was 65* all day, 65% humidity, with a 5-10 mph head win

Me - left lane - (3" pulley (13.5psi @ 7000k), no meth, full 3" catless, 245/40/18 25psi nankang street tires, all the other bolts on and cooling mods)
vs
newer RSX w/ full exhaust, intake and tune. (His best run was a 14.7 w/ a 2.2 60')

----
Me - right lane ( ' ' )
Vs
Built head - ported/cammed w/ a 2.8 pulley, full 3" catless, and the other supporting goodies.
Took him in the top end by 1/10 woohoo! GO GIANT 3" PULLEY!

Yaa..... 14 second runs ftw...
Local LNF member's best run was a 14.2 @ 101 w/ a 2.3 60'

If a stock LNF was running 14.2 @ 101 with a 2.3 60', then that is about right. If he got his 60' down to around 2.1 or so he would be around 13.9 or so, which is average or so. Maybe your track is somewhat slower than most, but not a 1/2 second, because that means the LNF would have ran a 13.7 or so with a shitty 60' time, which I dont see happening.

I was so dissapointed when i ran a a 14.4 @ 99 w/ a 2.3 60...
Only to run 1/10 quicker w/ a 2.2.... w/ the same mph.
His car for what ever reason isnt holding power well... to add as soon as his cam hits, his stock clutch slips.. .i think he has like 90k on that clutch...
To add he can't launch his car for the life of him... I don't think he's had much seat time at the track.
According to his tuner a.k.a shaunmcdee he's detuned.

LMAO, I was actually trying to ask a honest question that time. If he is running drop-in cams with the stock hydraulic lifters, then I'd like to know where he got them, so maybe I can get me a custom grind.
As for him failing, yea, that's a terrible time and trap speed for the mods he has.

Was given a lil tuning advice today considering I've hit a wall w/ what ive learned in hpt.
we'll see next time
won't be no 13.2 lol... but I'm lookin to finally hit 13s.
It just seems so much harder to do it out in fontana...
Back in the day when I had a 2.7 and a race tune, I was only able to muster out a 14.4 @ 100 mph w/ a 2.2 60'. Same track
---------
So weird how at this track I some how manage to trap 3 mph less in the 1/8, but at my 1/8 mile track I trap 80 mph on the same 60'.
meh...

My old 272 grind.
As far as I can see, the cam guy is very prideful and wouldnt admit to his inability of driving. Truth be told, i think his best 60' was a 2.4 or 2.3. To make matters worse, his clutch would slip on launch, on the 1>2 shift, in 3rd when the cams kicked in, it was just an awful day for his clutch. As for the tune, that would be my doing. When he first got setup, he was setup to run on 42 lbs injectors on a 2.8. In these parts that leads to an IDC well over 120s. In order to save some face and attempt to keep it safe, the top of his third gear from about 6k and above was detuned quite a bit. Now that he has the 60s, the injector tables were just swapped over to a working 60s table, and the rest of the tune wasnt addressed. Were now waiting on his new clutch install and his meth injection. With a full tune hell be well into the 13s im sure. Around these parts any lsj in the 13s is quite commendable seeing as sunny socal doesnt like our cars run anything close to 13.5.
California speedway is quite the heartbreaker for our cars. Roughly 1250 feet above sea level and the heat doesnt help. But these are merely ricer excuses until we can fix his car
Anything else you need to know, pm

In the past when he was 2.7 and meth injected he had a maxed timing table from 3k on up. Now, on meth, his car barely manages 17. See what i'm getting at? More boost is not the answer to flits problems. Once his deal is solved though, im sure hell go right back to 17psi again.
I can honestly say, we've gone thru everything there is to do to that car in terms of high cyl pressure. Filters, tubing, intake manifolds, egrs, pcvs, pulley sizes, compression tests, only thing we havent done is pull the damn motor apart. We've asked for help in the past, only to get "your car is fine" answer. So in short, i would love to give you a straight answer, but i don't have one for you.
The JBP header is still on the car....
I do have one pretty bad restriction on my car...
the header's collector is 3" formed, which connects to a OEM DP 2.5" flange which then opens up to a 3" catless the rest of the way back...
that .5" could be the issue...
or...
maybe the jbp header has finally failed on me

We ran a comp test on my old reliable comp tester that ive been using for well over 2 years now. And his comp was an equal 170s across the board, pretty normal for a beat on car. Few weeks later when the issue presented itself, Another comp tester, made by a higher quality company neeted him 220 comp readings across the board. So either a. My trusty reader is full of ****, or b. something internal is causing issues.
But I agree with you, a teardown would be in order soon.
