I was looking to go with 17's, but was wondering if the mt 205/40-17 was to small. Does anyone have experience with these?

normally i would agree, but if you ever used the mt street radials, you know they hook almost like a slick. That's why i was wondering if anyone tried them.

Your still going to spin that short of a tire. I was spinning my 26 inch slicks last night. and they are 7 inches wide. With a second gear burnout.

what other tire (slick or dr) will fit on 17's. Right now of all the 17" rims that are known to fit I think 7.5 is the widest. I would run slicks, but as far as I can tell the only one who makes a 17 slick is hoosier and its to big to fit on the wheel according to their chart.

Try motorcycle slicks like Cmiller is using.

I am going to try out an 18" wheel with motorcycle slicks on it next year.

Are they actually safe for the weight of a car though?

When talking slicks, there is not a load rating they are all built the same. Make sure you get the general purpose compound on the motorcycle slick and not a motorcycle compound, that is the only differance. And I have mine for sale, with 14 passes since the drag strip is done for the season up here.

That's a big tire on a narrow rim. Do they rub at all?

Even though its 11.5 17 the tread is only 9.5 and I only will use them at the track where theres plenty of room to turn. My car isnt lowered or anything like that.

Do you actually have these on the car? Or are you guessing they will fit?

Yes more info on these 3743s

Are they working well if you have them?

No rubbing issues at the Drag Strip? What width of rim?
