Stock 2.4Ls

well 08sport1320 and I went to my local track today and were trying to show what the 2.4L can do. with his 14.9 on the line here are the times from a "damp" day with a cold track. air temp was in the low 60s and overcast.

08sport1320 is 705 and I am 703. these are our two best times.

nice times man. If you guys get a little bit stickier tires, you'll be 14.7/14.8 consistently.

wow that's an odd timeslip. a 15.0 with a 2.2 60' and only a 92mph trap? that's nuts!

reaction time has nothing to do with the 1/4mile time just when the clock starts

Had a good time @ the track with DUNKINUTS Sunday wish I could have stayed longer but didn't know til Sunday morning that it was mothers day. MIR is 2 1/2 hours away from me. Mom wouldnt appreciate me missing dinner. I don't think the track was gona hold any more than that anyway. Like dunkinuts said it was damp and cold. He def. has more horsepower than me. I thaught I got the factory freak!! His car is crazy on the top end which indicates more hp. I got a good look under his hood as well he did mine and they are def. both stock!!! Who would have ever thaught 93.6mph in a stock 2.4L!!! I'm looking forward to getting together with some more of ya. Maby up at E-Town soon. I'm gona go ahead and put my K&N sri on now and start buying more bolt ons. My goal is to go high 13s on all motor by the end of the year. I know nobody will think its possible but I WILL prove them wrong.

but i am thinking of a few mods here in the next weeks. but less just say you will only "see" one of them. at this rate i am looking for 14.5 or so with the mod coming next. if the track can hold it.

Sweet!!! Can't wait to see those times. Get those mods done quick cause the hot weather is coming and that means slower times.

haha i'd love to see the damage he could wreak with a fully bolt on and tuned 2.4 think about it though.. stock si's make 20 more hp then 2.4s and a really good driver can keep with a lsj so it makes sense

yeah we were talking about what we were planning on doing to our cobalts. and we both were guess mid to high 13s with full bolt ons and a tune. (with better tires and track conditions) and if we don't hit 13s then drop in the JBP cams and hit the 13s.

you'll probably need cams for high 13's but you'll be close to it with full bolt ons and a tune

but if anyone can do it you guys can.. low 15s/ high 14s on a stock car that supposedly runs mid to high 15s ... lol

i'd love to see you guys race an ss/sc in my car lol just a few bolt ons might make it enough to get a 14.5 and make them go WTF

Those are some NICE 60fts!! I went Saturday night and pulled a 2.7 and a 2.6...only ran it twice. Won't list my 1/4 mile cuz the 7000ft+ above sea level makes it look bad =P. I just wanted to get a feel for the track. I hopped all the way out of first for both runs but i've been practicing my launches and i've gotten a lot better. Going back in June

Oh can I ask what are your guys' shift points? Do you use the stock shift light?

i was shifting at the first red section on the RPM gauge. 6250 or whatever it is. and we both stay in 3rd until we cross the 1/4 line. also the start is the hardest thing to really get down. b/c that is where the 14 sec passes are. just keep in mind a clutch is cheaper and easier to repair then axles, so AVOID WHEEL HOP AT ALL COST!!!
