Street Racing Made Safe event!
Hey guys,
Just wanted to share this with you because it was an absolute blast out there today.
Unfortunately my car blew out an axle last night as I was getting it ready for the event so I wasn't able to compete. Still had a great time nonetheless. I'm "editing" some iPhone clips together for a video to share some of the runs with you.
They had a dig class running in the morning but we weren't able to film it because it was on the opposite side of the track but we we're able to see and film the 25mph and 40mph rolls.
I really think these type of events have the ability to deter street racing and for $15 pre-registered and $20 at the gate for a full day of racing can't be beat. The atmosphere was great and there were some badass cars. Even a new 2012 gtr showed up and was running a bunch of people.
Big shout out to Edubs for making the drive down from Bradenton, FL too!

what did they do like drive around the water box and spend an 1/8 getting lined up at 40 and then honk and race for 300'? lol

On both the dig races I ran we were on asphalt and I was getting beat by slower cars because I spent all of second gear lighting up my tires and then didn't even have enough room to wind out all of third to catch back up.
They had plenty of space for us to roll up to the beams and start at 40mph which was perfect of me because that's a strong starting point where I normally would just light them up. I hooked perfectly my one 40 roll and moved out pretty damn well...even on conservative timing...

all i know is that it was a blast and i'll go to every event they have. can't wait until they get the events going at tamiami airport so the big boy cars can run. 60-150mph
