Took My Car to the Track

Today I went to Bristol dragways Street Fights in tennesee. Had an awesome time, but cold as hell and 35 mph winds didn't help much either. The track had just been paved and it was cold so traction was a bit of a issue. My mods include Stage 2, GMPP Sports Cat back, and the airbox mod, high elevation by the way. Here are my two slips, and of course as you can tell I need to work on the driver mod a bit.

R/T: .188 .358
60' : 2.503 2.348
1/8: 9.581 9.615
MPH: 78.53 78.74
1000: 12.265 12.302
1/4: 14.519 14.564
MPH: 97.12 98.97

how high of an elevation are we talking about. and are these times corrected for elevation or not? if its not corrected then your about 13.8 to 14.0 sea level area. With some practice you can improve.

No those are raw times...I ran a 15.2 stock, today there was some stock SS/SC's running 15.5 and such, so for my mods and with the shitty 60' I believe I did rather decent. In april which will be the time i'm going back i plan to have some traction bars, and engine mounts. I launched the car like i would at a redlight did not launch hard at all, becuase i knew if i did it would be spin city for sure.

I was impressed, I figured I would be getting around a 14.7...I ran really well with a mach 1..he got me off the line of course and ran a 13.8, but right at the end of the track I was reeling him in rather quick. I will post some vids in this thread later tomorrow once my friend gets them uploaded to his computer.

btw, the clutch held up good as well. Last season whenever the car was stock it slipped like a bitch, but I was reading some suggestions of shifting at 3,000 rpms as much as possible, and I have been using this method. I did not expierence any slippage at all today.

I love going to Streetfights, it's awesome...especially when a modded Cobra 'Tang does a burnout and blows his clutch up!
