track outing

went to the track last night, i guess overall, not a bad outing. been tuning on the 2.7 the last couple days, had some misfires in 3rd. was going to regap the plugs when i got to the track. made a couple passes, one of which was my best for the night (10.65@100, 8.34@86.6 1/8) and was wondering "WTF is up with the 1000 trap?" should have easily been 102-103. AH HA! forgot to regap the plugs. find a gapper, and a torx bit for the cover, one ******* cover bolt is rounding out so i cant get it. fml. that ended up being the best e/t (only a 1.99 even).

biggest news of the night was that my wheel hop is RIDICULOUS again. i guess the cab's and mounts are getting worn because this **** is scary. i cant even explain how ******* bad it was.

some funny **** later on though. a local guy with a new si with typical bolt ons and a cobb tuner was with us. he has claimed its a "highway monster" and he outruns new camaro ss's. well.... i was 4 deep, he was gutted from the front seats back lol. we went from about 55-60. he got a big hit and i was pulled even by 70ish lol. proceeded to put him a little ways behind my rear bumper by the end of third. he wasnt too happy afterwards.

him: "stu, what is that thing pushing?"
me: "uh, what do you mean?"
him: "how much horsepower?"
me: "oh, i dont know man, i just race it at the track, hasnt been on the dyno in forever."
him: "man, its gotta be over 300"
me: "not a chance"
him: "dude it has to be, you have 4 people and just started walking me"
me: "idk man!"

rest of the conversation was full of much confusion on his part, and me making subtle jokes at his failure and complete lack of understanding in what a powerband is.

We would have a great 1/8th race. My PB on the 1/8 is 8.3 @ 90

Hopefully my tweeks will change that soon.

Why would you post your 1000 ft time, I thought people went by 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile times these days?

I'm still up in the air on the cabs. I do need some stronger axles though. don't want to pay for the stage two axles, but I'll go for the ottp ones.

Hey stu, clear out ur damn box!

i havent decided yet. i was usually trapping 100-101 on the 2.85. occasionally 102. i was running 100 all night on the 2.7. however, i was experiencing some misfire pretty often on my 3rd gear tuning pulls. HOPEFULLY this means i was getting spark blowout at the track. we will see this weekend with new plugs and a smaller gap
