I just got a set of d/r's and drove around on them for a week or so..

.. talk about a night and day difference!

However, when the car's not fighting for traction and the tires aren't slipping.. it makes me feel like i have no power.... even if it's pulling like a s.o.b

well, I mentioned the KDW2's because they are relatively cheap for a decent street tire. The best choice would be something with some cushion, but that's hard to get on a 18" wheel and fit in a cobalt wheel well. I was just trying to recommend something cheap and affordable, yet something he could still drive around on the street.

Just wider tires isn't going to do it.

you can hit 12's as it sits. just need bigger nuts and less caution.

you have seen my car run in the 12's fresh off the street without taking pressure out of the tires, or weight out of the car.

yea, I just don't think this guy can do it. he's just too far off on the ET. Better off buying some sticky tires.
