Went to Cordova tonight

And... Well, I immediately met my goal for the night. The first run of the night was picture perfect. I ran a 13.2 at 108. VERY quick. I was not expecting it to be that great, and it was quite the pleasant surprise. Needless to say, that was the best run of the night from me. The other runs weren't bad, but they could have been better. There was an accident where a kiddie dragster flipped, and that took a long while to take care of, and in that time, the track lost all its heat, and deteriorated quick.

I think i have the launch control pretty well dialed in for these tires. they really aren't good at all, and once I get some stickier tires, I think i can raise it a bit and do better in the 60' times. All in all, it was good night. No broken parts, and it was fun. I met my goal, and that's very pleasing.

Oh yeah... I am completely stock with the exception of a tune, motor mounts, trans mounts, and sportlines. Running stock tires at 28psi, launch control set at 3000, rev limit to 7200, and NLS shifting 2-3 shift (not 1-2 due to wheel spin).

Here is the time slip:

I set my launch control to 3000, and was letting the clutch out pretty quick. Wasn't NLS'ing the 1-2 punch, but was the 2-3 shift.

I did have a better trap this past time around, which is very surprising, because I lowered my rev limiter back to 6500 from 7000. This past time i trapped at 110mph, but still only got a 13.2. I think thats about all the car has in the state its in right now.

Wish my 05 had launch control!! I will be @ Cordova for Midnight Mayhem this week. I hope to back up or beat my G-Tech run 13.80 @ 108. I think if I had launch control I'd just blow the tires away anyway!! On the G-Tech I spun through 2nd gear so I may be faster if I can hook. Plus I didn't take anything out of the car, including a passenger.

Not bad... what are your mods? I am going to try to make it to midnight mayhem, but I may not... I am not sure if I will be there yet.

I have the GM Stage 2. I have a ZZP 3inch DP w/ cat into a 2.5 inch Magna-flow without the resonator. I have the stock air box cut up with a few extra holes in it with a replacement K&N. I cut the stock intake tube and replaced the part from the throttle body to the headlight. I am also toying with an icebox for the aftercooler fluid. I have drilled and slotted rotors and Konig Hotswaps with Nitto Invos. I replaced the stock splitter with a carbon fiber piece. You may see me around Davenport I'm the Yellow SS with the 4% window tint.

I'll send ya a PM...

Thanks. If it was a Cobalt, and it was running 13.0, then that was me. I must say, I am absolutely surprised what this car can do. I didn't think I would be knocking so hard on the 12's door with just a tune.

Some of the bracket racing regulars say Cordova is a tenth or two slow so maybe you're already in the 12s on a better track.

question, did you set launch control for 3,000 or did you feather the clutch to 3,000.

I hate launch control bc it launches you so high!

If you DID set launch control to 3,000 on the computer, how do you do it???
