Went to the dragstrip

So I went to virginia motorsports park tonight with my cobalt ss. I didnt quite get the times i was hoping for but all in all i feel like i did well considering it was my first time drag racing a 5 speed. I ended up running a 14.9 at 98.6 mph, with a pretty lousy 2.6 60ft time.

not bad for a first time. that 2.6 can easily be brought down to a 2.2 60' and you will be seeing mid to low 14 second ETs. get some engine mounts to help with that wheel hop maybe. your trap speed is right where it should be for a stock ss/sc though.

No prob Michael. Weather conditions during our runs were as follows:

Temp: 55F
Relative Humidity: 75%

The altitude of the track is around 120ft above seal level.

Needless to say, it wasn't ideal racing conditions. With a lower humidity, we both would have been faster.

my focus definately wasnt reaction time, i was more focused on avoiding wheel hop and not bouncing the rev limiter. My best reaction time in my nissan was a .070.

FWIW, reaction has no bearing on your final et...your 60ft time does though!

Get your 60ft down to a 2.2-2.3 Michael, and you'll turn a 14.5 at least!

I know that WRX is fast, but...

Is it just me or are these just perfect pics of just how much better the cobalt looks than the suby. I mean, its like a hot chick standing next to an ugly chick!
