Went to the dragstrip
So I went to virginia motorsports park tonight with my cobalt ss. I didnt quite get the times i was hoping for but all in all i feel like i did well considering it was my first time drag racing a 5 speed. I ended up running a 14.9 at 98.6 mph, with a pretty lousy 2.6 60ft time.
not bad for a first time. that 2.6 can easily be brought down to a 2.2 60' and you will be seeing mid to low 14 second ETs. get some engine mounts to help with that wheel hop maybe. your trap speed is right where it should be for a stock ss/sc though.
here is the rundown of my time, my friend will be posting up the slip and possibly some pics. Anyways here is the run down.
R/T .604
60' 2.626
330 6.638
1/8 9.863 @ 75.41
1000 12.658
1/4 14.98 @ 98.64

Here's the timeslip for Mimmsey's (#607) fastest run:

P.S. For those that might be interested, my fastest time in the 2.5L '06 WRX was as follows:
60' 1.933
330 5.807
1/8 9.002 @ 76.89
1000 11.731
1/4 14.053 @ 95.00mph

No prob Michael. Weather conditions during our runs were as follows:
Temp: 55F
Relative Humidity: 75%
The altitude of the track is around 120ft above seal level.
Needless to say, it wasn't ideal racing conditions. With a lower humidity, we both would have been faster.
