went to test n tune at Zmax

I live about 20 minutes away from Zmax in Concord NC.
i have been there before but first time at a tnt. VERY nice track.
realized they were having a tnt tonight. got there and there were hardly any cars so i figured it would be an awsome time to run.

best reaction was .094

best 60 foot was 2.340
best run was a 14.183 @ 102.26
ehh, i did ok. im not the best at launching.

no love for my personal best 1/4 run? lol

I'm sending my love to your personal best 1/4 mile run.

Good time man. How was the track prep? Got a lot of spin off the line?

Since it was a TNT, try focusing more on your launches and watching the tachometer than catching the tree well. You're R/T won't affect your E/T, so try focusing on your launch, even if you leave the gate 4 or 5 seconds after the light goes green.

yea i know your time starts when YOU leave. not when its green. that one was just for fun, with the launch control haha.
but yea i need to practice on my launches. any tips?
i hold it about 2000 2500 and then pretty much dump the clutch and kinda feather the gas if it starts to spin...

i was expecting to hit a 14 flat. But i downloaded this quart mile calculator program. I filled in my cars weight and the WHP i dyno'd at (258.94 and the RPM it hit that at, the time came out at 13.75, and then i realised i entered in the WHP and it wanted Flywheel horse power, so i had to re enter that field in and re calculate it. the cars weight, and left the RPM the same 6323, and enter in 323.68 (323.68 - 20% = 258.94whp) and the 1/4 time calculated out to a 12.78.

So now im just hoping to hit somewhere in the mid 13's to high 13's

'05 if you get a decent launch i'ld say a 13.8-13.9 maybe. you gotta remember those calculators are based soley on numbers. not wind resistance, tire spin, acceleration, etc

Do NOT dump the clutch on street tires unless you want to break something and or get a horrible 60 foot. Feather the clutch and gas so it accelerates hard but doesn't spin the tires. It takes practice to find that sweet spot.

yeah, thats why i added a full second to its lowest estimated. mid to high 13's should be about right, but i dont know.... i'll be slapping in some rear spring blockers so the car wont squat when i take off, and the fact that im automatic makes a little bit of a difference. I have yet to ever spin my tires on a launch of any kind at all (and yes, even from a street light w/ my turbo i have yet to spin tires. Even while holding the brake in and pushing the R's to 2,000. still never spun my tires)
