Went to the track lastnight (Stage2 SS)

So I went to race city last night (my first time ever at a track).

Conditions :
Altitude = 3500 feet above sea level. (Calgary Alberta, Canada)
Temp = 23 degrees Celsius or 73.4 degrees F

My mods : Injen CAI
GMPP Performance Exhaust
GMPP STAGE 2
B&M Shifter

My 3 best runs were:

14.405 @ 99.27 MPH
14.578 @ 99.68 MPH
14.621 @ 100.81 MPH

My 60 ft time averaged between 2.3 - 2.5 seconds
Tire PSI was around 28.
I was dumping the clutch at about 1500-2000 rpms and feathering the gas untill i caught traction then i would floor it.

NEVER had to shift into 4rth. Each run ended in 3rd gear.

Any comments or suggestions for next time would be appreciated... thanks.

Not to shabby...practice makes perfect! If your on the stock tires and have a stock clutch I would not dump the clutch...take off slowly then give a nice press on the gas. You should be low 14's with those upgrades. You should end at the top of your 3rd gear unless you put different wheels on like myself which gives me a couple hundred rpms more by the end.

Not too bad. I have had my best times by just leaving the line like I'm leaving from a streetlight, and slowly working my way to WOT. Stock tire pressure. My best 60' was 2.3. And practice does make perfect.

Thats how i got my highest MPH. seemed that the slower my ET the faster my MPH and the faster my ET the slower my MPH.

Yea dont dump and you will do even better. With stage 2 i think you could be late 13's pretty easy.

late 13's, i ran 14.3 stock at 100, i am hoping 13.5-13.7 with stage 2

sorry not stock just intake, but cant make that big of difference

Xenozx 04-22-2006 03:38 PM

IM running 14.2 beforce stage 2. I ease into it too and average high 2.3 and low 2.4 60 foots. IM also on winter/all season tires. You should have done way better then that I would think, but maybe your in the mountains or something and air pressure plays a toll.

I just bought an Engalls Torque brace and a strut bar. I have stage 2 coming this week and will be having my summer stock tires put back on that have less then 1-2000 miles of use. I will be hitting the track up then and aiming for 13's~!

I am in the mountains lmao. The air pressure last night was equal to 5100 FT above sea level. Sea level corrected I ran a 13.44@106.

Cobalt_Supercharged 04-22-2006 04:23 PM

If that adjustment is correct, Congrats on a solid run.

Great runs Cody, waiting for vids!!!
Just for your reference, I raced 2 srt-4's that same night.
One ran a 15.8(stock), the other ran a 14.7@100.75(mods).
Cody's car is fast, and he can drive boys!

cobss187 04-23-2006 01:55 PM

you prob have to drive the car with the stage 2 for a while so it gets broken in a little bit as well as u learning how to drive the car with all the stage 2 stuff. once you get that down you should be in the high 13s and maybe even mid 13s if your a really good driver, good luck bro

cobss187 04-23-2006 01:59 PM

^^^^^^^^ the air pressure could be a hugh difference too lol i didnt read the rest of the posts^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Mercury 04-23-2006 02:09 PM

Egh, I ran a 14.2 with only an intake. You need to practice launching your car. With the stage 2 you should be pulling a high 13.

Not at 5100ft density altitude.
He did as good as anyone can expect, especially first kick at the cat.
There is no traction at this track, so a 2.3 60 is good for stock tires.

Jekyl 04-23-2006 04:21 PM

here is a vid, i have another one but its huge and its hard getting it hosted somewhere

Do you know what altitude is? Did you not read the post with his sea level corrected time before you started spouting out?

Go run your 14.2 on mount evereset

Nice run man! How much did Stage 2 set you back?

Jekyl 04-23-2006 06:47 PM

1186 to buy, and about 3 hours labour to get it installed, i think it was worth it.
