Went to the track tonight
After 11 runs on my 09 T/C 1300 miles and stock, the best I got all night was 14.09@100. I also ran between 14.0 and 14.5 all at 100 or 99.The 60' time clock was out,but I can tell my launches sucked ass all night.Someone please tell me the best way to launch these cars,I left launch control on most runs and left abou 2-3k RPM.Is there anything else I can do?I ordered a Trifecta tune but want to launch better, will solid motor mounts help this car? Will it get faster after more miles and fresh oil change? Any help would be appreciatd.
sux it didnt show your 60ft's. thats a big thing with these cars. although i have a s/c i got the launch down decent. all i do is keep the rpms as close to 2500 without going over that. and let the clucth out like i would from a traffic light. ive lanched enough times i know when its bout to bog and grab traction, then i roll into it. usually works well as long as its semi preped. best ive pulled was a 2.10, but its usually around a 2.20. but track prep is a must, as soon as you get a tad bit of spin your run goes up in smoke. im sure some t/c guys will jump in on the traction control stuff. but i honestly dont think to many people use it
Aren't you suppose to "break-in" the car for at least 3k miles?? I personally would not like to break it in by going to the track
.
anyway... dunno if the wheel hop on the ss/tc is the same as the ss/sc but I assume it is, so some motor and tranny mounts will help the car launch better.
Where did you go Great Lakes?

my 1st time at the track with my TC too tonight. best was 14.5. My R/T sucked ass and im a newbie lol. Ill get better with time but i got a CEL on my 3rd pass No lift shifting from 1-2. cut the car off and coasted the rest of the way. scared the hell out of me
Damn man, is your car ok? I take when you restarted your car the CEL was gone? Was probably a misfire.
R/T doesnt have anything to do with your ET's. My advice so you can get used to launching the car, go ahead and have 1, 2, and even 3 second R/T's, it will help you get used to the tree and launching your car.
do you spin the tires when you no lift shift from 1st to 2nd? if so just regular shift then no lift shift 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th.

It's all about practice, even if you're told the perfect way to launch you'll probably mess up the first few times. I've heard the t/c's are better off of launch control. I'm guessing revving up a bit higher than an LSJ would be beneficial to get out of turbo lag asap.
Like I said, practice makes a huge difference. I've lowered my 60' every time I've gone to the track and I generally launch from idle.

At least you have no mercy towards yourself hahaha
yeah, well it'll be my first time at the track tomorrow and I've never dragged before.
I read online that as soon as that 3rd light lights up that you should start to go as the next light comes on .500 secs later.
I'm going to do a deep dig as opposed to a shallow so I don't get a DQ!

The 100mph seems low to me...I bet the car gets faster as the miles on it go up.
The best way to leave in the ss/tc is to rev it to 2000rpm and slip the clutch to where the rpm never drops below 2k when you are rolling out. I've managed 2.06-2.09 60ft times with this method
Lower the front tire pressure to the low 20s and let er eat.
No way in hell would a 3-3500rpm launch work.
