Lol I have a buddy with a MS3 and its quick no doubt but a ss/sc with a 2.8 takes it by a car or more. He has downpipe and blow off valve along with a few other mods. When he tunes it and puts the top or front mount on it its going to be a different story though...

It was probably the same article that said they could have got a way faster time out of the ss, but they didn't use the no lift ****. They said they had to be fair and drive the cars on an equal level.

Definetly a ss/tc. There's one out here with a tune and a few bolt on and he's barely keeping up with boosted civics and acuras. Mo way a mazdaspeed 3 is running over 400hp though. Must have a factory beast LOL

On a serious note, the mazdaspeed3 is no joke. A buddy of mine owns one and it's safe to say that it's a drivers race in most cases. We've had a couple of runs together. I'd give a slight edge to the Cobalt in a straight line only because the MS3 chokes in the higher rpm.

I've also been to the drag strip where I met a MS3 owner with his stock car. His best of the night was a 13.8 but I don't remember his trap speed.
