Whoo! New best time!
Went to the track this evening and ran a new best of 13.77 @ 104.57 with a 2.27 60 ft. .
My mods are as follows:
GM Stage 2
"Alternate" air box mod w/ K&N drop-in
NGK BKR7E plugs (.036)
Ingalls ETD
If anyone is interested in more details:
Weather was about 50*F; about 70% humidity
Track is very near sea level
Ran w/o spare tire and jack; had less than a 1/4 tank of gas
Didn't bother messing with the tire pressure - was about 32 psi all around
Full slip:
RT: .166 (yeah that sucks)
60': 2.277 (could be better)
330: 6.047
1/8: 9.032
MPH: 82.52
1000': 11.609
1/4: 13.770
MPH: 104.57
My previous best was last year in nearly the same conditions - 13.819 @ 102.17 w/2.210 60ft. Last year my only mods were Stage 2 & the Ingalls.
Time for exhaust mods!

Time for exhaust mods!
nice time man. And nice trap speed. Tx has been the gounds for really great track times! Time for some cooling mods though. Exhaust mods can wait. Go get a water/meth kit and some Drag Radials and head back to the track.
I'll definitely look into water/meth, just a little apprehensive because I'm trying to keep the warranty on this car and don't want to run into any problems at the dealer. I also don't have access to tuning right now, but I will definitely check out my options. As for drag radials, I don't really go to the track that much and I'm scared to death of snapping an axle using them (daily driver), so I probably won't get those.
I appreciate your technical knowledge and your willingnes to share it, thanks again!
well, an easier route to go would be a cobra heat exchanger (cheaper than the meth) and just get some nitto NT01's or something like that. Then you won't have too much of a sticky tire. You won't get a sub 2sec 60ft. but you should be able to squeeze out a 2.0 pretty easily. I could definitely see a 13.0-13.2ish @ 105/106ish. And that's pretty impressive for the small amount of mods you'd have. Maybe then an exhaust would bump you down into the 12's.
what do you mean by that reaction time i am slightly confused is that how long it took you to react once the light turned green or did you red light, meaning that your reaction time was lower then .5 in the sense that you went on the last amber. I dont know if im confusing you but maybe someone can help.
good time btw.
good time btw.
Thanks guys
Ralli - thanks, I'll start doing my research on heat exchangers
Dayta - I really have no idea how much hp I have - I've never dynoed and I don't want to just start throwing numbers out, especially since dynos can vary so much
Pimpn - At this track, .000 is a perfect light, so on a track where .500 is perfect, I would have had a .666, which I'm not proud of. Thanks for the props

I am right there with you, I ran 13.7@105mph. The only diffrence with mine is I was almost 2500 feet above sea level. Good times man, I can't wait until I get the chance to run near sea level.
I'm running Dunlop Direzza DZ101s in size 225/45/18. It's a summer tire, and I like 'em better than the stock Pirellis. I've actually cut better 60' times with the Pirellis; I just didn't have the best launches that night.
Nice run Mike!
Look into getting some traction bars for just over a hundred bucks. Takes the pressure of your control arms and puts the power to your wheels more efficiently. Basically its supposed to eliminate wheel hop. I know a few people who use the Bwoody ones which are smaller and were very happy with them. Suspension mods are a good safe route for you to take if you wanna keep that car a daily driver, and lower your 1/4 time.

Thanks! Yeah, I was comparing with timeslips I had last year, and on my previous best I had a 2.21 60', 5.94 330', and a 13.81 @ 102.17.
This new best run, I only had a 2.27 60' and a 6.04 330' - a whole tenth behind and I ended up with a 13.77 @ 104.57. If I can get a better launch, I've got 13.6s (gotta be able to drive this damn thing, lol).
I noticed you've got a very nice time w/o the use of drag radials, what traction mods do you have? What kind of 60's do you pull?

Mike, you seem concerned about warranty, but are considering cooling mods. I have the GM dual pass intercooler installed with directions for option B which used a secondary surge tank. It's a GM Performance part(s) and install directions, so you get a 12 month/12,000 warranty. GM recommends it when you acheive more than 240hp (see FAQ about GM stage 3 at Crate Engine Depot), which is less than GM stage 2's output. It can be costly if you have the stealership do the install. If you can follow the directions and buy all the supporting hardware available through Crate Engine Depot you should be fine. The first time I went to the track with this on I dropped 2/10's in the 1/4 and gained 2 mph in my trap speed. I've never dynod my car either so Ican't tell you about the gains. If you want a heat exchanger you can actually use both. The heat exchanger is going to be the cheaper route though.
BTW, congratulations on your new personal best.
