Wtf

Ight so I just came back from the Strip(for 2nd time ever) here in Gainesville Fl. Can't say that I'm happy either.
I ran 4 times. 1st run was 15.051
2nd:15.038
3rd:15.212
4rth:14.965 @95.09mph
R/T: .420
60': 2.491

Mods: 3.0 pulley, spark plugs, airbox mod, flowmaster exhaust, TTR Engine Mounts and Transmission bushings. I also have 3 JL 10" Subs in Trunk.

I feel like I ran like crap about the times but the staging area was wet as hell and I couldn't get traction(tires didn't even chirp when I did a mild burnout at beginning). And a friend with a supercharged Mustang GT said that last time he ran his car he had a horrible pass and ran 13.1 and when he raced me he ran 13.9 and had traction problems cuz of wetness. but then again other cars seemed fine and looked like they got grip.(not sure if they were all on street tires though.)
So basically I'm looking for some feedback of anykind. lol. Hopefully contstructive lol.

Your 60's suck. Work on those. How do you launch?

I take car up to 2500rpms. Hold the clutch up to the sweet spot(lol) and hold E brake so I'm not going anywhere. Then when it's time to react, I let foot off the clutch about halfway between fully released and when it was grabbing(aka the sweet spot lol) while applying more gas,(about 75% throttle). then Kinda get off the clutch very shortly after that when I feel like I won't lose traction. and just kinda go from there. Like i know I'm not the **** at launching by any stretch of the imagination but I don't know if I'm just really horrible or if it was just too wet. cuz I did a little pre-burnout to shake loose dirt off tires and i didn't hear crap. like not even a chirp. so iono.

That's the proper way to launch. You just need to launch at a higher RPM.

Your clutch is still grabbing hard right?

Every .1 of a second off your 60' is .2 off the finally E/T. You should be able to go 2.1-2.0 so that's .3-.4 seconds which is .6-.8 seconds off your time alone from a good launch.

Proper shift points will also help.

If the track was slick he wouldn't be able to get a high trap speed.

well on the 15.038 pass I trapped 98.77mphh. Not sure if that's too low as well. But I certainly feel like the track was slick. but then again some ppl had traction problems and others didn't.

Depending on your shift points your trap speed can vary a lot. I've watched my buddies 2.4 N/A trap 96. Trap speed isn't always a good indication of anything.

well ET and trap speed together still tell me somethign is wrong... when I ran with a 3.0 at the track the only time my trap speed was that low was when my clutch slipped massively in 2nd.. and then the et was in the 16's....... otherwise trap should be at least 100

I hope you have 42lb injectors and a tune for that 3" pulley. Cause if not, that pulley is what is causing all kinds of problems.

I was trapping 105 with a 3", 42's and stage 2 tune. So something is fucked.

Man Gainesville Raceway is a very interesting animal. Some days its sticky as hell and then there are days they don't prep it for ****. From what I've noticed, Wednesday nights are the worst prep times. Saturdays seem to be better because more high powered drag cars come out so they prep it better. Wednesdays is mostly street cars.

The way I launched my Cobalt there was hold RPM's at 2K then ride the clutch out about 10ft, slowly engaging it while apply throttle. After about 10ft, gas to the floor. My best 60' with that method was a 2.145. I usually was pretty consistent 2.1's unless of course it was a slick day. Lol there are days where 2nd gear will spin like first there.

When I ran a couple of 14.2s in my stock balt, I released the clutch and feathered the gas pedal not the clutch. Making sure you don't roast your tires off the line is key! IMO you are launching way too hard.
