08 cobalt 2.2 supercharged transmission problem
ok so i have had this problem with my transmission ever since my car was supercharged. 08 ls 2.2 automatic. I was told it is NOT the tune.
the tune is bad btw. everything isnt how it should (injectors maf ext)
so the problem i am having is as follows.
i can start the car up fine. and i can go to rev it rev limiter is still at 4k. the car will rev normal.
than the second i take it Out of park and put it say into R N D I or L and than put it back into park and go to rev the car it revs VERY SLOW and laggy.
also when i go to put the car into reverse power is reduced and it will only go in reverse slowly as in not full speed you can normally go in reverse.
3 people have told me it is the transmission harness inside the tranny.
i was suppose to have the guy who was retuning the car replace the tranny and retune the car but that hasnt happend. he has had my car for 3 weeks and hasnt even touched it. said he ordered the tranny harness and it was the wrong one. because he told me there is a GM TSB about this harness saying that the wires can chafe or become loose. or the ground/solenoid can go bad and it will give me these problems.
he said the harness in the tsb was the wrong one or something.
than short story he said he was going to have the dealer do the job.
told me 3 diff times he was bringing it up and the car never made it there. than today he told me that he wasnt going to be able to bring it to the dealer till next thursday.
and i have pretty much had enough and i told him that im going to have to pick the car up. he told me that i could bring the car to the dealer my self however he will have to be there and tell the tech the situation (he does work for the dealership on the side and all that so he knows the tech personally)
SO im picking my car up tomorrow and am planning on calling the dealer and telling them about the harness as they already are aware of it and im looking to get it replace.
So my question to you guys is has ANYONE seen/heard of this. i have a video of what the car does so you guys can see for yourselfs. its pretty fucked up and i have been told its NOT THE TUNE but its this tranny harness.
the car has the following DTC's that my tuner picked up with his tech 2 P0573, P0843 and P0717

The car going slow in reverse is normal. They all do it.
Now going back to Park and not revving normal...not sure on that (I would blame tune) or maybe reverse switch is bad?
P0573 - Cruise Control/Brake switch circuit high
P0843 - Trans fluid pressure sensor
P0717 - Input speed sensor
It could be trans harness.

well in reverse it goes but it doesnt go the speed it use to.
hard to explain. throttle is reduced alot.
i know the car doesnt go full speed like you were in drive ehile in reverse but it is drastically different bc of this trans harness.
picking the car up tm from tuners house since its useless sitting up there and guna call the dealer in the am and hopefully they can look at it.
tuner was like o u can bring it there but i still have to be there to show the tech. which i call BS!

one can boost a 2.2/2.4. plenty of people have done it....
maby i just had bad luck and this harness decided to **** the bed on me. there IS. a tsb regarding it so who knows

yeah i was told its just the trans harness. when the car orig got supercharged the place who did it put a stock tune on it and said it still did it.
so im guna have the dealer look at it and see what they say. because the guy who had the car for past 3 weeks said it is this trans harness that there could be a bad ground. bad solenoid or a bad/chafed wire. and a guy who i know who is a gm tech said that he has seen more than one stock cobalt do this and he has replaced more than one of these harness's before. he has seen the car so he knows what it does

Thats good you know a tech that has experience with this problem. When you get it fixed dont forget to post results and if you can snap pics that would help ppl out even more down the road
was told its this harness so im going to take it to the dealer and see what itd cost to fix the problem.. buying another tranny could be an option. but i myself dont have the time, patience,tools, or help to install it.
and cant afford to leave my car in my garage for however long it takes.. struggle enough just leaving it in someone else's drive way. had to get rides to work and borrow someones car.

Well hopefully it is the harness. But buying a used trans you def want to look for low mileage, better chance of still being alright. Then you could always go stronger trans and get a rebuild to specs trans
and yeah thats the problem when buying a used tranny. it has to be low enough of miles. because last thing i want is to buy a used tranny and have it blow in 10k miles.
so planning to avoide the whole buying used tranny for now.
he works at a buick gmc dealer now. but the guy who i am taking it to is already aware of the situtaion i am havine. atlease that is what i was told because guy who has my car now told me he called him and the dealer and talked to them about the sitaution
and what sucks more is after/if iget this harness fixed im going to STILL need a tune. and have no clue if this guy will be able to next month or whenever. id like him to do it but dont want my car going back and sitting in his drive way waiting for a tune.
all because the car was not tuned properly from day 1.
if it was i would have never had that problem. and still would never need a retune and no one around albany area specalizes in tuning cobalts. twisted synergy dont know **** about em.
have had no luck with the guy im at now. after gm im going to try and get tuned by the guy who has my car probaly not till middle of next month or so. but if he legitly cant/dont want to do it i have no clue who will tune me
nope dont own hptuners.
and not really looking to buy it for 450 bux. when i can have this guy (if he ever does) tune me for 500.
i mean if last resort i HAVE to buy hpt than i suppose i will but at this time not looking to.

car is dropped off at the dealer.
guy who was guna tune the car gave me 3 packets of info all with info bout the cels.
turns out the scumbags who tuned my car and sc'd it simply disabled bunch of codes and all that in hpt so my car wouldnt have a cel.
pretty fucked up. car has maf codes lean codes rich ect.
so after i get the trans harness fixed going to have to figure tune out. guy didnt even apologize to me for not doing a thing to thr car
