Is anyone talking to OBX about them making some LSD's for our 2.2L's or 2.4L's now with the turbo's and tunning for the 2.4L you would think it would be a great add on

a local group "team green" makes an lsd insert for the cavi getreg trannys, theres a good chance it would work in ours as well...its somthing id love to have for autox

this insert it normally $200, there having a gp right now for $150-$160 depending on how many orders

 

well lets see if anyone can find out if it will work for my car, if it can for 160-200 for LSD i am all there.

 

they say it works on our cars, and their good people so id take their word on it, says both the getreg F23/25 so its avaliable for all cobalts

 

What else am i going to need to put it in my car?

 

All Cobalts EXCEPT SS/SC, the SS/SC does NOT have a Getrag tranny, we run an FGP Tranny.

 

There is a member who is buying the LSD from them who has a ss s/c non g85....they said it would work. So what is all in the install?
1. how many estimated hours
2. should i go with a lighten flywheel too since i believe i am going to be in the tranny anyway
3. think its worth it at 150.00?
4. do you think i will need tunning

 

oh my mistake i thought the ss/sc tranny was the F25

 

I still don't get the diff between an insert and actually LSD...that detroit locker **** did not make sense.

 

You and me both buddy, i am trying to clearly understand it. What i got was that LSD will not give full power to the inside tire when turning while the insert will give more then the actual LSD, but as soon as you accel the insert will give full power to both wheels. Point is that in auto-x LSD is WAY better but normal driving and track use the insert should be fine.

I statd what i know, and if yo use the link halfj99 provided you can get some more info. THe prics is at 150.00 for us with this group buy but install IF YOU GO TO A DEALER would be like 800-1,000 so you better know someone or have a shop that doesn't charge the standard 65-85dollars an hour

 

so is this lsd good quality or just shitty?

 

there a 250+hp cavi drag car, other high hp ones as well, therea about 25ish cars using it , some up to 30K miles without a single problem or complaint from anyone

 

From the background checks its good quality, BUT what is not being answered is time to install i was quoted around 600.00 for it to go in if i can work it down to be like 400.00 i might jump on it and do a lighten flywheel at the same time
