I was wondering if the B&M shift plus for the auto 2.4L were worth the cash, and has anyone put one in their 2.4's and noticed a significant difference?

 

I have one and yes their is a noticeable differece....with it being on it shifts much quicker with reduces the lag between shifts and also keeps the transmission much cooler which lasts longer.

How long have people had this installed on their cobalts? I did a bit of reading a few months ago and some people said that after extended use the transmission would sorta hang when it tried to upshift.. So anyone with this mod that has had it for atleast a year + 10-15k miles on it please chime in.

 

I've had mine on for about 8-9 months, no problems.
It makes the shifts MUCH faster and harder. Your tranny will make a noticable clunk noise, when it's on stage 2,but it's ok.

 

Had mine for well over a year, no always on but I use it from time to time, and I think HackAbuse has had his for the same amount of time and he always has his on and he has no complaints.

But for the price you really can't beat it, and I have not taken it to the track yet but from my G-Timer it says I had a .05sec. increase with it on.

 

with that I would be at 15.67 or something constantly

 

yo tune that bitch....ask automotive..he has been a tuned 2.4 auto...my car..**** shifts awesome

better? a tranny tune, as you can change (and improve) many stock settings such as shift points, shift line pressure, torque converter lockup, and so on

more reliable? whoever tunes your tranny can **** up, especially with so many variables and especially if theyre not very experienced in tuning trannys, whereas the B&M has set settings and cant be modified to levels that will damage your transmission

 

the tranny tune def helps a lot..but sucks u cant tune the 2.2

 

I would get a tranny tune but only one I trust is Hahn, and why can't you tune the 2.2?

So the 70380 WILL work on the Deltas? The B&M site only lists GM RWD's. Hall speedshop has em for $35. If you guys say it will work I'm gonna get one.

I have it and for the $15 it cost its the single best mod you can do.
