Axle Riding Condition on seal, leaking

So, back in March, completely rebuild my trans (F23) with new everything, it was toast. Had a shop rebuild it, and we put a brand new Quaife LSD in. Since then, about once a month, i wind up going back for a new drivers side axle seal (under warranty) because it starts leaking. We run GM axle seals and new axles in the car. It seems like the Quaife LSD unit isn't supporting the axle properly? and so rather than sit against the seal, its laying on the seal, wearing it out pretty rapidly, and leading to small leaks.

I contacted Quaife and so far its been less than helpful, just wondering if anyone else has had this or a similar problem and can offer help.

Thanks.

Not too promising, keep us posted, hopefully it's not too big of a deal. I'm hoping to be able to swap come spring time.

sounds like they are working with him if you read his post. however if he supplied the diff it isnt the shops responsability to warrenty it, but sounds like they are working with him.

if the axle is loose in the diff it sounds like the diff is either worn or improperly machined. its unlikely the axle is worn enough to cause it to be loose in the diff, and if it was you would see it. the only other thing that comes to mind is that the diff bearing preload is incorrectly set causing the diff to move under load, however thats unlikely, you would have bearing or gear noise if that was happening.

We put the new Quaife unit in when it was rebuilt, and actually put new axles in as well at the same time. everything was new when it was rebuilt in March. Quaife was suppose to call the lead at the shop today and talk to them, so hopefully i'll know something tomorrow.
