Axles

Replacing my front right axle. ACDELCO Part # 20778308

Was wondering do I need to get transmission fluid? I'm only changing the right side which from what I remember isn't directly connected to the tranny. So I don't think the tranny will leak oil. I just want to make sure so I don't get fucked in that situation.

thanks!

no.

it goes into the intermediate shaft.
dont unbolt the shaft to engine block bracket at all.
take the hub off, get underneath and tap the axle out of the shaft by the base.

this is a <30 job with hand tools.

you wont need it, but its always nice to have some spare trans fluid on hand just in case. and oil, and coolant... lol.

agreed that it only takes like 30 mins. very easy to do.

No, stock axles for the LNF. Was wondering tho LSJ axles fit? They're literally 60$ vs 150$ LOL they seem to have same measurements too.

LNF axles have larger diameter hub splines. LSJ axles dont fit an LNF. LNF axles are stronger by far.

Noproblem. the LNF axle can be had with LSJ end bells, that fit, its made by GM and part of the "anti power hop kit" sell for over 500 dollars comes with LNF mounts as well/ contact CED for those parts

Just wanted to ask one thing since I'll build my motor and looking to be in the 600ish whp: do I need to get stronger axles or the stock ones will be fine? I have a SS/TC.

Installed axle. Ride got smoother but still shakes a little bit at higher speeds during acceleration. Maybe lower control arm? I don't think it's the hub bearing. I'm running out of things. I don't think its my steering. I gotta check the tie rod ends too. I don't know. Anyone can give me any more clues on what it could be.

With a 600ish whp do I need to get the axles from driveshaftshop? Or the stock ones will be ok?

Stick with your stock axles until they break, rather break an axle or your transmission? Also would like to know more about your build and what turbo your using for your 600 hp build.

Keep the stock axles till they break axles are more forgiving to replace. NAPA axles also one breaks it's replaceable hahah

You put out big power and the weakest link breaks first. Cheaper to replace axle than a tranny.
