I just put in ZZP stage 3 with new GM flywheel and the upgraded (LNF) throwout bearing. I LOVE it. Holds great. Starting out in 1st gear is a little touchy, but not as touchy as the SPEC stage 3 I had in my last car.

I've got 2,000 miles on mine so far, and it's been awesome.

KY clutch will be the BEST holding power for the price.

I have a Spec 3+ and suggest not wasting your money into that clutch. I hear the OEM replacement is really nice.

no need for anything but the lsj upgraded clutch on a stock engine. anything designed to hold more power will typically have more mass and will reduce the power you put to the ground. you never want to add unnecessary rotational mass to the drivetrain.

You never want to limit yourself though. Putting a clutch similar/slightly upgraded from stock, limiting future mods. Along with a stronger clutch will last longer, as you are not stressing it nearly as much.

You dont want to replace a clutch twice, it gets spending with all the install labor.

If your mods are limited theres no need to upgrade. I have a decent mod and my oem clutch lasted 130,000 miles. A good amount were highway but still. How long a clutch will last is based oh how the car is driven.

Im going to revive this as ive searched high and low and cant fins what im looking for.
I have a stage 3 LSJ 2.8 pulley and 60s... So on and so fourth.
My mechanic is a southbend dealer and can get me a good deal on their clutches... So i was wondering of i would surpase the 300ftlbs for the SB stage 2 or GMPP clutch.

Basically... Will the South Bend stage 2 hold on a stage 3 m62 setup?

It should be fine, but I'd go GMPP.

Ive read too much about people hating SPEC.
GMPP or south bend... and it looks like the GMPP wins due to price and since its +3 vote for GMPP.

Thanks again

When you buy a SPEC, you get one with the non-ratcheting pressure plate.
The self adjusting pressure plates, on any clutch, (IMO) are a dumb feature. They just seem to cause everyone problems and I dont care if my clutch grabs in the same spot. I would rather the engagement move so that I can tell my clutch is getting closer to being at the end of its life.

You need the clutch pipe.

I would rather have the tool than risk them not having it.
Not all ecotec ones are the same.

I didnt order from CED and I am more than likely not getting the clutch pipe...
Why do we NEED the clutch pipe?
I know someone with the alignment tool so thats fine... But I still dont understand the necessity of the clutch pipe.

Here's exactly what and where I ordered...

It tends to start leaking after being removed and reinstalled. And the only way to replace it is to drop the trans. So for the $10 or so that it costs, it's good insurance to replace it every time
