short and sweet. Driving the other day and noticed that 3rd/4th are now missing as they do not engage or have any resistance. 1,2,5,R no problem just the 3rd and 4th.


I have checked the linkage on the shifter and under the hood. Looking for ideas as this in the first time with this type of problem. Goes to the dealer tomorrow for other work, but really concerned about this new issue.

Sounds to me like you may have sheared the pin on the 3/4 shift fork..........

This is IF your lever is actually selecting 3/4 when you shift.


EDIT: I assumed MU3 since you don't list what you have.

 

my best guess would be internal trans problem, broken roll pin on the 3-4 fork, broken fork, worn out fork.
