Okay so I'm having another problem with the clutch system. I can drive to work with very little to no problems. But on the way back the clutch will just randomly have no pressure and go straight to the floor. It's when it gets to operating temp it has problems. I'll have to either have my foot resting on the pedal the whole time to keep pressure or do like 5 mini pumps to shift gears. Sometimes I can shift a couple times before repeat or I have to do it again to get into nextt gear. I've replaced the master cyl. About 800miles ago. I think it's past air bubbles in the line I just hope it's not a Tob. The clutch was changed probly 3k ago when I bought it but no info if they changed slave etc. Also the pedal sometimes is super stiff(feels like Its gonna break through the firewall) or a little soft. If anyone can help please do!!! Thanks

 

How did you bleed it? Has the problem only happened since the master was changed?

 

Yes probly 600miles after. But was always super stiff or just not feeling right untill this happened. And just pumped it and held to the floor while someone opened the bleeder about 6 times.

 

I would try bleeding it again before getting too excited about other possibilities. When I bled my clutch I had a person in the car pump about 5 or 6 times and then hold the pedal down and I would open the nipple down on the line that goes to the TOB and air would rush out. Then I repeated this process probably about 8-10 times and eventually you get to a point where you no longer have any air and just get a nice smooth trickle of fluid and it's good to go. Not sure if this is the best way to bleed it but I haven't touched it since and it works just like it should.

Have you checked your brake fluid level? I know when I was bleeding my line I discovered the brake fluid reservoir had less capacity than I thought it would.

 

Yep the fluid is full and clean no signs of junk in it and we bled it from the bleeder on top of the trans kinda by under the throttle body. I was pumping the peddle not bleeding it so I didn't care to look. But I was going to do it again tonight just waiting for a second hand. Thanks

 

You really should pull vacuum on the fluid reservoir like GM says to, that will get all the air out relatively quick (they say leave it under vacuum for ~20-30mins iirc)

 

Second this. Pull vacuum while slow(!) pump a couple of times and you're good to go. If this doesn't work, there could be something else going on.

 

I think the book says pull vacuum, drop vacuum pump slowly 5-10times then pull vacuum again until pedal pressure is correct (firm not dropping to the floor)

 

I'm going to do it tonight ill let you guys know if it works or what it feels like!

 

Okay so we bled it literally 30 times and it will not hold pressure... You can pump it up but feel it lose pressure like it's spraying out somewhere.

 

Probably the tob seal look for fluid leaking in between the oil pan an trans case at the bottom

 

That's what I was thinking I'll check it out tmmrw after work. It never lost fluid level during the problem. But when we would pump and open the bleeder then close it would suck up a bit of fluid like normal when you release, but after a couple pumps after closing it the fluid in the resevoir will raise with the peddle pumps and will have no pressure

 

Also you can almost hear something like it spraying out the pressure but there's no fluid leaking

 

Yeah sounds like the tob or they might have forgotten to tighten the little clutch pipe in there

 

If it's squirting into the bellhousing you would've noticed by now. There's something else going on.

 

^This, as it'll flood out the bottom pretty quickly.
