clutch questions

I have read a ton of threads and i am still not sure what clutch to get for my LSJ. The Spec 2 clutch went out on it(not sure if it was spec 2+). I didint even know it had that clutch until the shop pulled it out and showed me. I have read some good things about the spec 2+ clutches as well as the execy stage 2 and gmpp one as well. Currently my mods are TVS, 60's with option b, header and zzp catback and Trifecta Tune. I also installed a phenolic spacer. Future mods will be meth injection and zzp stealth heat exchanger. Just wondering what clutch would be best for this setup. I am leaning towards buying the gmpp with another flywheel since this is the cheaper route. THe stage 2+ is about 600 alone. Thoughts or suggestions?

If you go with any, the GMPP is a nice clutch as I ran it and it held up to over 400whp. Stay away from Spec clutches. If you do not get a GMPP clutch, go to zzperformance.com and buy their Southbend series clutch, can't go wrong! Also if you don't get the GMPP and you do get a Southbend, make sure you buy a new clutch pipe and the upgraded TOB.

I have no idea, but I might test this with the 4.45 and my build when it's finished since it will be a daily.

The GMPP is way underestimated. I never had one slippage when I had over 400whp. I wonder if it would hold 550whp.

Yeah, the GMPP is pretty robust. You can floor it in 2nd, dump the clutch, and it'll just spin the tires. The stock clutch would slip so bad if you did that, lol.

Well I'm going for 600+whp so it would be the ultimate test lol but if it means my trans will last longer then sweet. I don't go to the strip that much anyways, mostly in the street.

I had a Southbend stage 3 in my ZZP stage 3 car. Worked tremendously. Never let me down.

How I miss my old car

Does anyone know who's running the most power with the gmpp? We know it's fine with 4xxwhp, but anyone beyond that power level?

Curious to know this as well. Clutch depends on the torque though.

Yep almost positive. Extended time at that power level it wouldn't last I'd bet

Did you get a new clutch pipe and fly wheel bolts? How much did everything run you?
