Clutch slip?

Hi. New to the forum. Have an 08 cobalt ss tc with stage 3 clutch. Just started noticing the other day when driving down the road car will hit 2000rpm then spike to 5000+. Almost feels like clutch engages after 2000rpm and then car has no power until letting off the accelerator and allowing rpms to lower back below 2000. Will do this in all five gears as long as its getting enough accelerator. Is this a slipping clutch issue or some thing else. Anyways to test it?

If the rpms shoot up at the speedo doesn't, most likely it's clutch slip.

Question, is the car tuned/bolt-ons? And are you flooring it below 3500rpms constantly?

do you know what brand of clutch it is? and how old it is?

clutches, especially in performance applications, dont last forever.
