Clutches...

What's up guys I'm looking to get rid of my CM stage 3 clutch. Makes too much noise and I hate it.

Was thinking of ky stage 3.. I want a clutch with a spring loaded center section. Anyone with ky how do you like it?

Also does GM make any upgrades for the LNF? Like a GMPP clutch for the LNF ?

Thanks guys!

I like mine. It does take a little to get use to because it grabs right away when ya pull out.

This spec stage 3+ (stock flywheel) or GMPP clutch is the best for a DD car. Lightweight spec flywheel makes the car very easy to stall when starting off.

Hmm spec stage 3+.. 09bluebaltss how's the lsj clutch hold up with the LNF power? That's what I wanted to do is a GMPP upgrade.. But wasn't sure how it would hold up.

Quite a few turbo LSJs/TVS LSJs running around with the GMPP clutch. Honestly, never heard one bad thing about that clutch.

As long as you install either a new flywheel or a properly resurfaced flywheel it holds fine. If you are stock Turbo I would incorporate a boost ramp just to ensure you aren't hitting the clutch with 400 ftlbs at 3300rpm. Other than that the gmpp seems to be the way to go. Local is making around 450whp on his gmpp in a lsj

I have Spec s3+ with the lightweight flywheel and I like it. I had the KY Stage 3 and it had a TON of chatter. My Spec only does when it's cold or haven't driven the car for a while

Running. Gmpp on my LNF and a BNR2871. I think the only way to make that bad boy slip is to get a huge amount of torque low in the rpm range. Perfect clutch for upgraded turbo.

And how do you like it? Makes any noise or anything? Or sounds/feels like stock?

I've heard good things about the GMPP but IDK I just don't get it. If you are someone who's going to get on it hard with alot of TQ it is going to go. Idc what people say, it WILL fail. With a clutch job being such a pain in the ass, i'd rather throw something on my car that I know can handle whatever I will throw at it. More of being a one time and done sort of thing...

I did it because a certain member with an e85 s256 lsj had one on his car and it even holds his power. He should be close to 500whp.

The GMpp is awesome. Exactly like stock. No noise

In most cases driving habits kill clutches before power does

Oh I don't disagree with that at all, just don't get people replacing a stock clutch with pretty much another stock. To each their own tho! I prolly would have done the same, I just have terrible luck, and another clutch job wasn't what I wanted too do haha
