damn shifter!!!!!! help!

damn shifter!!!!!! help!

ok well i had my sts installed into my car and took most of the stuff off and its up for sale. put my stock shifter back on and everything went smooth..... today i get in my car and the side to side motion is making a clicking noise i was like wtf........ took it apart and realized some how one of the little tabs on the plastic clip broke and how the little plastioc assembly is slipping on the plastic threaded rod...... anyone that has taken there shifter apart for a sts will kno what im talking about........ so i go to chevy they pull the picture up and that part isnt in the diagram, and they tell me come back NEXT WED. with my vin to call gm or ill just have to pay 350 bucks for a whole new assembly! wtf maybe if everything wasnt plastic now a days the ******* **** woulodnt break! instead there moto is let cut our costs in half and then charge 18 grand for a ****** plastic box! can anyone help me with this? sorry im very upset seeing i can barley even drive my car now and i dont wanna strip the threads off that shifter cable

come on!!! no one can help? lol im freakin out

Check wrecking yards for a manual cobalt to take the clip from. Or zip tie and tape it back together.

i dont think any wrecking yards would have a cobalt...... lol a year ago i went to some looking for parts for a 2000 and they laughed at me

Have you seen all of the wrecked balts just on this site!!! There a a few floating around somewhere. Just call around.

Yeah, zip tie it until you can find one. I broke the clip on one side off mine. Total accident, anyway, the zip tie is your friend.
