Hey, i have a 2005 ss/sc. I bought it used with 9K miles on it. The dealership told me it had a LSD when i bought the car, but i later find out that not all these cars came factory with one. Is there a way i can tell...from the vin # perhaps???

yeah... go smack the dealer in the head wih your dick and tell em to get you one with the LSD since they lied to you.,... and tell em you're gonna report him to GM

 

If the dealer lied to you, you can **** them over royally.... I suggest doing so...

 

not all the cars came with both the recaros and the lsd. If you have a g85 package then you have both, but some cars just came with either the recaros or the lsd. I know someone who has lsd but no recaros so it is possible being that the salsesperson didnt mention anything about a g85 to you. Take a look for yourself or bring it to a mechanic to have them look for you.

 

look at your window sticker if you still have it. that will tell you if you have one

 

window sticker? where would it be? near the VIN?

 

it would be listed on the side that shows the original installed equipment ... thats normally the left side that shows all details about what came from the factory

 

dude they came as a package, they only way it could have it without the recaros is if the dealer installed the LSD after they got it or if they took the recaros out. get your stuff straight

 

you dont know what a window sticker is and you are advising people on diferent aspects of their car?

 

if he got it used it might now have the sticker... but yeah the recaros and lsd were a package... I tried just to get the lsd with mine and no deal... but thank god I didn't I love the reacaros

And yes I am advising ppl on things because my friend does in fact have the LSD and no recaros so maybe its a **** up at the dealer or something, and as far as the window sticker comment... i didnt know if there was an extra sicker near the vin/inspection stickers or not, i wouldnt know because i dont have the g85 myself so there ya go. Honeslty, if your friend has LSD and no recaro's, then he had the LSD installed at the dealer perhaps. And it wasn't a dealer "**** up" because the dealers dont make the cars, they just sell them. Did he buy it brand new? if not then the previous owner probly got it installed...or maybe hes just shittin you haha either way, congrats on the purchase man!

 

no he bought it brand new and ive even driven it and it sticks much better than my car without it. So it must have been a dealer "**** up" i guess i was under the wrong impression. We're not trying to jump all over your ass. We are just saying that you are the first one to come on the board and talk about a cobalt ss/sc with only half the G85 option from the factory. So, seeing as there are many many extremely knowledgeable people on this board, if it were at all possible for a cobalt ss/sc to come with LSD and no Recaros, I am positive it would have been brought up before. SOrry to come off like an Ass, it's been a long day...

 

yeah yo u got ripped off a good g at least but yeah itll ahve recaro seats in it if u had the lsd

 

doesnt the trans have a big sticker right on it that says LSD?? i am not sure but i thought i saw it once

 

lol its cool man, sry for the way i came off too. all good, i was directing it to the other guy, but aside from that, it must have been a dealer error and he got the $1500 LSD for free or something cause that thing sticks better stock than mine does and our tires are both in similar perfect condition.
