Does 4t45e hold up with boost

How well does the 4t45e automatic hold up running boost?
What breaks when they have problems?
Somebody was saying clutches get welded together.

Im pretty sure they are fine into the 300whp range. The harder you drive it obviously the faster it will wear out. Im not sure what breaks first though.

I changed mine a few weeks ago because it didn't like back to back dig races on drag radials. Also wot pulls. I've been supercharged for a little over 2 years. It started slipping occasionally under wot. Got worse and worse and decided to change it and problem solved. I only dynod 264/266 on a mustang dyno.

Since you aren't turbo'd you don't have a ton of torque so it should last a little while. Do you get any wheel hop? Cause that really hurts the trans and axels. Drag strip with a well prepped track can also hurt if you are going in and out of spinning the tires and grabbing traction.

Mine didn't last too long once I started going to the drag strip.

It's the same transmission. Only difference is the final drive.

It should hold fine as long as you dont over heat it. Use an extra trans cooler and make sure you have oil in it. And like said before the launches on a sticky track is gonna wear it out faster. But thats with all transmissions.

I have had my car supercharged for about 3 years as well and constantly run at the drag strip and have yet to feel any slipping. Also depends on how hard you run your car too.

Lucky you lol mine has be sc for 2 and half years. Never slipped when I was on a 2.8 and 93. Starting doing it on a 2.7 and e85. But I'm knocking on 300whp
I also have a trans cooler.

Mine had no issues on the 2.8. But I don't care. Its going to go out again with the tvs. I'll just keep replacing them.

I am currently working on my shift patterns and although the RPM won't get me as close as the MPH settings since they both come up very fast in 1st, I was able to set the rev limiter to just slightly bounce from 1st to 2nd. It sounds like a very fast manual let off shift. The tranny should last a long time this way.
