final drive
tried searching, came up with diddly squat.
basically, i want shorter gears. i have an 07 ls, so the f23 tranny, and the gears are ridiculously long. does anyone make final drive kits, or whatever, for that tranny? or am i just sol?

Supposedly the hhr f23 uses a 4:11, ours is either 3:87 or 3:97 I have seen both printed. The 2.2 fwd Saturn vue supposedly uses the same internals in a different case and I've read the internals are swapable, it has a 4:52... I wanna say.. And a different 5th gear. There's also a company in Easton I can't remember the name right now, that used to offer a built f23 on their websight, but have since taken it off. I emailed them about 2 months ago the offered I think 4 different fd options and they are willing to built it. Give me a little bit I'll go threw my emails and find it.
I feel the same way, I think they just need to be a little more...

Well I definitely appreciate you trying. I think I remember reading something about some Suzuki gear and pinion working. Could be something else though. I'll have to check into the vue for sure if it's 4:52.
Never mind, the Suzuki was swappable on the miata.

Miata... My next car....
It's wa 4.41 or 4:51 or 4:52.... I forget. It's been years since I was looking at this. At the time I was really thinking about it I was driving 45 miles one way to work, and I had figured out that the 4:11 set would have been about the same on the highway as using 4th instead of 5th.

No no no no no. So much wrong.
The highest gearset is the 4.41 gears and if you want it rebuilt Powell. It's about $650 for the rebuild and if you want a LSD about $1200 plus a second transmission. So right about 2K for a rebuilt LSD F23 with 4.41 gears (want to do this over the summer and talked to Powell about it). I wouldn't buy from FMSR at all, really Powell or nothing (not to mention his are cheaper).
