front end is shaking

so i have an 06 ss/sc that i blught about a year ago, when i bought it it was already lowered and drove smooth although the tires were bald, i threw on some snow tires and a few months after i ave a bad vibration coming from what feels like the passenger front end, but it is only happening under acceleration, does not happen under braking, cruising, or engine braking, my guess is a bent drive shaft, or possibly the tie rod end. i had it on a lift at work a few weeks back and everything feld solid, i tried shaking anything and everything and it all felt good, my drive shaft does have a **** hair of free play but its very minute. any ideas?

any help appreciated, i have to get it fixed before i can head to the strip

We have alot of odd vibrations from bent/out of balance wheels. Try that. I have seenvibs from a bad cv joint but that was constent i think.

its not the wheels, i can guarantee that, but im starting to develod a huming at high speeds like highway speeds im wondering if it could be the wheel bearings

Wheel bearing will make a humming noise regardless of throttle position. Usually louder with speed and when you turn from one side to another, it will get louder and quieter depending on which side wheel bearing is bad.

Control arm bushings seem to be pretty crappy on these cars.

well, im know the one wheel bearing is bad, but im wondering if that would cause the vibration, cause my buddies montecarlo was humming like mine and whn ever you turn you can hear the diference with the weight off of it.

so i took my car into my buddies shop today, and it is my transmission causing the problem, it is making a grinding sound, and the guys at the shop seem to think it is the input shaft and the shaft the clutch drives off of. so basically i need to get it fixed, or get a used tranny, a new one is $1600, and that ain happening

Was this vibration intermittent?? I have the same problem (under acceleration only) but one moment it's there and the next it drives perfect!! It has me stumped. I checked everything. I balanced tires, rotated tires. Mine is a stick also. I hate to think I have to replace my trans. The vehicle only has 36K miles on it!!

I had the same problem.... it was the spindle side that the ball joint sits in, it swelled open and would no longer tighten up.... so i needed a new spindle .... hope this helps...
