GMPP anti wheel hop/ SSTC front and rear trans mounts installed!!

So I bought the GMPP wheel hop / SS TC trans mounts and installed them on the car saturday night. I did about 4-5 hard launches and no wheel hop. Then I took of the Ingalls torque brace. 4-5 hard launches. No wheel hop. I will have to see next year how it does at the track but from what I have seen so far they will perform just fine.

If you want to eliminate wheel hop and don't want to spend over $300 on trans mounts thenpick up these mounts from Tom at CED for about $90.

I also installed SS T/C mounts on my Stage 2 LSJ.

I had ZERO wheel hop until the mounts "broke in" (vibes went away). Now I have wheel hop again but it is greatly diminished and I have to really try to get it to happen.

Overall they're a great purchase for anybody planning on staying within the 240--260whp range, ESPECIALLY for the price.

I don't know about miles, but it was about 2 weeks till the hop came back. I'm on stock axles.

The hop is definitely a lot less than on the stockers though.

I'll have to watch mine after 2 weeks. Did you install them per the directions of letting the motor settle . I have the DSS drive shafts so I wonder if it will make a difference. I will post back in two weeks.

bought these as well, they are a definite upgrade and make the car feel alot tighter without the vibes or full poly inserts

Yep, used these specs (from the GM wheel hop kit instructions): https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...37#post4411637

Transmission Mount to Transmission Bolts
89 Nˇm
66 lb ft

Transmission Mount (Rear) to Frame Bolts
60 Nˇm
44 lb ft

Transmission Mount Through Bolts
100 Nˇm
74 lb ft

Also waited to torque down the through bolts per the instructions.

Well sounds like you did it the same way I did. We'll see how it goes. I did run across some wet pavement and then a paint strip . The car hopped for a second. Then it went away. On dry pavement I have not had any problems yet.

Question: Slightly in reagrds to this post, I have been having an engine vibration, lately that occurs only when turning right, occurs only when moving, but when the engine revs up I have this vibration. It is definitely NOT transmission related because it occurs in gear or out of gear, IS produced only with engine revs up, and will NOT do it if at a stop. I've been thinking its a trans/engine mount issue, if I replace the mounts with these new ones do you think my problem will go away. I dont think it is a wheel hub/bearing issue because it is an ENGINE vibration, not a wheel vibration. What do you guys think?

Look at :http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor..._ID=188&Page=2

you find the mounts here

In regards to the guy about te vibration. Do you have aftermarket trans mounts intalled or still the stockers. If aftermarket then its the mounts . If stock then I think your CV shaft is going if it happens when you are turning
