Well 513 miles on the ss/sc and the differential went BOOM.

the tech says that it was more than likely a manufacturing/assembly problem. the diffs in these cars are rather sturdy. So they are going to order a whole new trani if they can only because there are so little miles on the car. if not they will just get new parts.

ill tell you what i drove the car about 10 miles after the problem happend to the nearest dealership. With really not alot of issues other than a bunch of blue smoke and some what i can only discribe as DRY metal on metal noises. I blew a corprate 12bolt once and it sounded like crap when it happend. The ss/sc trani/diff is strong to handle 10 miles with a leak and being grenaded!

 

Tell them you want the LSD one instead, unless thats what you already had.

Good luck with the trans/diff. I hope you can get them to order you one with an LSD and you could pay the difference. from what I have heard, it's cheaper to get the whole trans w/ LSD than it is to get just the LSD.

 

My guess is that you took out the ring and pinion gear and not the diff itself. See my post earlier today.

 

my lsd blew up in my car also 944 miles sorry to hear it had to happen to another...
