Help

hey guys, i need some quick info. When instaling a clutch kit in a 2.0 ss sc, do you have to remove the engine to get to the tranny. Or dose the tranny just drop down without all that trouble...... please let it be answer number 2

Yes you can install a clutch without removing the engine, you just have to remove the engine cradle and drop the transmission out.

Step 1: Install this - http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/
Step 2: Read the manual (that's the link he sent). It has ALL the information you need to install your own clutch, even down to the torque specs.

Yes, get the adobe reader linked above. The clutch swap guide from GM is 26 pages long with great pictures. too difficult to reproduce here

If you are still having problems try an online PDF viewer

Which exedy kit? I have the hyper single kit clutch and it has a viscous bite but my car is only 1300 lbs. Driving 5mph in first gear is a pain now. But the clutch takes the 300ftlbs of torque just fine

haha i just checked out your clutch setup, nope were in two differnt ballparks. yours is sick, if i dident have a tight budget id get it, the kit im talking is just an oem stock replacement but a lil more durable. If u wana see its on ebay but they dont make a stage kit until stage 3 for my 2.0sc they make stage 1 & 2 for those lucky people with 2.2 and 2.4 and there really cheap to. The onily thing cost friendily was the one i got the kit was 250 with shiping

No but you have to remove the cradle as I understand.

Yeah, it can hold over the factory tolerance (around 315-330) but not sure how much more...safe bet is 400?

I couldn't find any ratings on the GMK1016 one, and I don't know anyone who has gotten it. Good luck.
