Its not at all a "direct bolt on" its a little more in depth than that. And if your car didnt come with LSD it would cost more to add it then to have purchased it on the car.

The dealer should be able to pull up your cars options by vin. They did mine this way to find out what engine I had, dealership people can be so ******* stupid. I was asking how much it would be to have my stage 2 put on I know what motor I have.

Yes, you have the F35 trans, All ss/sc have it. The LSD is the entire carrier unit inside the transaxle. To install it, you have to remove your trans, split the case halfs (special tool required), remove old carrier unit, and install the LSD. dont forget about seals and bearings. The swap is not easy or cheap.

So far the answers you have here are correct. You can tell if what is installed in your car via the VIN number or the equipment code list in your trunk. With specific regard to your trans, you can read the model number directly off the part ID tag on the trans case itself. You can buy the LSD itself directly from Quiaffe (the manufacturer), which isn't cheap. Then putting it in is a huge, labor intensive job. If you are going to open you trans up, might as well do a few other thing to it as well.

Also you can look down on top of the transmission and it will say LSD if its got it.
Easiest way to find out is hammer it around a corner if the inside wheel spins you don't have LSD.
But just by the sheer fact you don't know if your car has it I can almost guaruntee you don't!
It is a huge selling feature with the car and a $1500 option.

Oh nevermind you are from Canada and have an 05
You Dont Have LSD
NO 05 in Canada has LSD

^ that's what I was getting to. That and if you have a US car, then look at your seats, if they are Recaro's, then you have LSD.

Have the dealer check the VIN. You should be able to tell by the seats, the 05 & 06 models could ony get an LSD with the preformance package option. This G35 or G85 (dont remeber the number) preformance package was the LSD and black and grey recaro racing seats. If your seats dont say "recaro" under the SS logo then you most likely dont have an LSD

Regardless if it states G85 in the options, Recaro seats or LSD "tag", you can do the following: lift the front wheels off the ground, place trans in neurtel(with parking brake on), rotate one tire . If opposite tire spins in same direction, you have LSD, if tire spins in opposite direction you do not. This is if you question the fact that LSD was added after purchase, or the seats were swapped and RPO codes are missing. Very usefull on a purchase of a used car that someone claims has LSD.
