Ingalls ETD bent

Anyone else have this problem? During my 3rd run I had horrible wheelhop so afterwards I checked under the hood and the dampener got bent pretty bad...I'm pretty sure I'll need both brand new brackets now....and hopefully stainless steel too...

Your not the only one man. Check in the performance forum. There is a big post on it in there.

Got pics?

my parents have my cam at the beach so no pics...The smaller bracket may be able to be saved but definately not the larger one....will Ingalls send me another set of brackets under warranty?

On a positive note though, during that particular run I was against this sweet ass STi that definately was not stock....man that thing sounded mean...anyways the tree was messed up so a track official acted as the tree for us and I only lost by a car lenth. If this was a 1/4 mile I could have beat him cause I was definately catching his ass. He just got out of the hole so good I didn't have enough track to catch him.

Did you use the washers when you installed it?

This is not good news. It sounded so promising. It's even on front page news on this site for stoping wheel-hop.

Well unfortunately there is only a 90 day limited express warranty which excludes any implied manufacturers' warranty. Which is in the following contract/warranty language:

The foregoing warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied including but not limited to any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness, or adequacy for any particular purpose or use Ingalls shall not be liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages whether in contract, tort, or otherwise resulting from the use of or the inability to use the product.
So if you break it after 3 months you are S.O.L.

That's bullshit. TheExorcist(chris) was telling me his bracket is starting to bend as well. Could this be why they tell u to keep it on the factory setting when installing it? The brackets are aluminum, that's probably why they are bending

Guy's Please make sure to install them correctly....before blaming the product. I have made numerous runs with my car and no bent braquet. When you install the Damper make sure to adjust the lenght of the Damper's arm so that its the same as the braquets.
The 2 bolt's should go in 100% straight or else of course your going to bend the braquets.

What is the point of it being "Adjustable" if you can't adjust it without bending the brackets?

I actually took mine off the car because it was getting too noisey and annoying.

I finally understood the directions and adjusted mine. It had A LOT of vibation in the car, then I fixed it and it's slightly more vibration over stock.

I asked one of the vendors how long he would expect one of these to last. He says hes been using the same one on his car for like 2 years (BS!) Im glad I didnt get these pieces of crap. Ive seen how much my engine jumps on the dyno. No way those things would work with those small brakets.

I've had mine for a month, hard launches too , at first I didn't have them lined up correctly and had a lot of vibration. I re-istalled them the right way with the holes lined up properly, less vibration and no bending...

C'mon now, there is no need to call a product a piece of **** I have it and have no issues whatsoever!! Like everything else this product needs to be installed properly in order for it to work and not break. I wrote a How too, I wrote a review on it and Rob from Ingalls is here answering people's questions. So please people make sure you install it properly before bashing a product.
