Question for BPS.

Do you know if the STS setup for a cobalt with NO reverse lockout will work on an SS WITH reverse lockout?

I dont have a need for the reverse lockout, but would like the STS.

Thanks!

Look at the assembly instructions. They're completely different.

If you don't want it then cut the blocker off of the shift tower.
Done.

There's a 50$ price difference because of the RL mechanism.

If im not going to use it, I don't want to pay for it just to toss it.

The instructions are different because the shifter assembly is slightly different from the N/A to the SC, not because the products themselves are so different.

As long as the shift tower, ball joint and cable arm are the same sizes, diameters, lengths, etc... then it should work just fine.

But if the measurements are different, then obviously it won't work.

I just don't want to waste money on stuff I don't need.

Considering all of the OEM components use different part numbers, I would say they are different.

They're completely different. How do you not get that?

And what's wrong with reverse lockout? You're probably gonna miss 5th all the time without it.

Show me how they are "Completely different" besides the RL:

Unless you have handled both parts physically in person, there is no way to know.

Thats why I was hoping BPS would see and answer this for me.

And I swapped my shift knob and removed the RL mechanism almost 2 years ago, and have never had a problem finding 5th. No harder to find than when the RL was there...

Too bad you can't use either one.... unless you install one on that 50cc scooter...

...Sorry that was mean, lol.

All I did was ask a question to BPS, in the BPS thread.

Is that breaking some forum law that I'm unaware of??

Trying to avoid wasting money.

I would think you would know a thing or two about that after buying that dud of an LNF.

If you dont know, than "STFU" as you so elegantly put it.

I know I'm resurrecting this thread from the grave, shame on me. But can anyone confirm that BPS quit making shift knobs? Already have the STS but want a cold resistant weighted knob and they are no where to be found on the site.

It appears that they aren't making them anymore. I also can't find the shifter or knobs on their site. I have one also that I will be selling and it's a shame because they are good shifters.i spent the extra money on mine when I ordered it and got the weighted black knob.

Do you find the weighted knob makes a difference?

I did, just waiting to hear back. I don't expect them to tell me where to find a weighted delrin knob that'll fit from a different company if they don't though, lol.

I like the weighted one I have. I don't know what to compare it to because I never got the one they included with the last ones they sold.
