I usually flush brake fluid on all my cars once a year, cheap maintenance is better than none at all lol. I may have to start doing it more often with the Balt though, as the lack of heat shields on the Z54 definitely raised under hood temps. Leemanfor: I have a mighty vac with a cap setup I made to bleed the clutch when I originally installed it. Downside is I'm currently just outside of Cleveland, OH, installing a machine at a customer, and my bleeder is 400 miles away in my garage. I was just trying to find a local parts store that I could pilfer one from, but nobody has one. Thanks for the suggestion guys, hasn't acted up again since I've been driving it everyday here, but well see how it does cruising the 6 hours back home tomorrow. Either way the new master arrived at my doorstep earlier, so I'll be flushing and installing when I get home tomorrow. |

What fluid are you guys using? I never had a issue.

I had a few bottles of Carquest DOT 4 that were unopened that I used on both my car and the wifes, and that's what I was using at the shop I worked at for the past few years.

Ok, so just to update the repair since I forgot to.
Replaced the clutch master and the pressure line from the master to distribution block with a braided stainless line, and flushed the entire brake/clutch system with fresh dot4. After driving all week the issue hasn't presented itself again. Clutch pedal feels solid, and no issues with it needing to be pumped up or double clutched to shift. Brakes also feel better, not that they felt bad before so that may be placebo :lol: Back to long term updates. |
So, forgot to update this, can't find the picture but rolled over 100k.
Currently the car has 102k on it. Had to drive it more than I wanted before storing it due to the slow response on getting me a company truck. Good news is the last 6k miles was basically spent in 5th, but that puts me at 26k on the clutch with more than half being z54 powered. Still works great, still loving it. Have to remind myself about this next year when it comes back out. Maybe if everything works the way I'd like it to go I may have some more power to abuse it with. Pipe dreams, pipe dreams........... |
So no mileage updates yet(just pulled car out 2 weeks ago), but it now has to suffer with a Z54 on E30. Quite happy how the car pulls now, so where it's at power wise is probably where it's going to stay for some time. Updates as summer rolls along.

Probably could have gone E47, but E32 is just as easy for me to mix, especially since I have a station I've been testing at 81-83% E even before getting tuned(last 3 months) and they sell 91 pure at a staion .25mi up the street from there. Me and my damn wall of text lol |

I thought about it, but if I buy opels I'm going to buy an lt1 pump with it. I already tapped out my play money I had, and just wanted to get the car running again, so I didn't bother. Easy enough to change down the road.

Thanks for the update on that. Mine was stamped Germany so I'll have to keep an eye on it as time goes on. I do know I don't ask as much of mine as you did, but still good info.

I will probably go the other route- leave the cam alone and go for the bigger fuel pump. With opels.

Figured I should update this. I only managed to drive 1,200 miles this year with how busy I've been at work. No issues, but I figured as much with the lack of drive time lol. So that puts it at just over 27k on the combo so far.

My old sedan with a GMPP/LuK FW + WR-3 6758 is still kicking ass. My Dad owns it and drives it very spiritedly. Not a single issue.
When the time comes, I'll be using a LuK FW in the coupe. |

I'm still debating if I want to go back to stop trans or just try other things and fix my vibration issue

Sorry for falling out of the limelight gentleman, things have been very rough over the past year in life.
The car is still going strong, currently at 110k miles, so roughly 32k and still no issues regarding the LuK/GMPP combo. Currently waiting for my new fuel lines to show up so I can get it ready for the road again. |
Thanks for the update. Similarly I'm approaching 50K miles on my resurfaced flywheel without any issues. (Resurfaced at 72k miles, 118k miles total)
