Please, any advice appreciated.

Just had my slave done. Was driving, and decided to gun it, and in 2nd hit about 6000rpm, and BAM, pedal was screwed. Went soft, couldnt get in gear. Had to go back to the shop. What the hell would cause this to happen? Obviously the pressure of a high rev did something to pop it.

I'm assuming when you pressed the clutch to shift that's when it "popped"? Could be total coincidence that it was a high rev when it happened. Maybe the force of the quick pedal push popped a connection loose. Is there fluid leaking? Coming out the bell housing?
